Wrong move. You are going for a lousier screen . The dpi is not high enough . How I know? I played the china version while I was there two weeks ago

the xiao mi note screen really that bad ah?? hmmm how bad?

Not bad at all, pixel density is not everything for screen. There are much more aspects important to screen such as contrast level, sunlight readability, colour reproduction and they are all much better on the Note than Redmi. The only benefit of Redmi is pixel density at 312ppi whereas Note is at 267ppi, around the same as iPad Air. Redmi screen is highly reflective under the sun, washed out colour and when displaying black is not black, more like grey.

Redmi note has exactly the same screen size, ppi and resolution as Note 2.

Imho. Note2 looks sharp to me.

It's not fair to compare with phone on another price point. 720p is decent enough if you don't look too close to the screen. I saw redmi and redmi note side by side, redmi note screen is much better in contrast and colour. If pixel is important to you, go for 1080p screen phones.

Not to "pour cold water" ... but here are some of my personal reviews of the Redmi Note after playing around with the China ver 2Gb Ram (friend's unit). The higher-end version which i assume will be the local model.

Comparing with Redmi,

Pros:
1. Bigger real estate in screen size. Its considerably bigger.

2. Better camera (though i honestly could not tell the diff in shots taken day/night shots)

3. Faster processor (but again .. it was not that significantly faster considering i did not try with intensive games)

Cons:
1. Screen resolution.
Putting the Redmi and its larger successor side by side running the same Youtube video .. the flaws of a lower dpi screen is apparent.
Despite reviews out there that claim the screen still looks gorgeous .. (and for RM999 it does) .. but somehow its not as crisp / sharp as the Redmi.

2. Not easy to use with 1 hand. I guess its my problem as I do now have experience with large phones.

Conclusion:
Trying the real thing really does put a little damper on my expectations of Redmi Note. To me, camera and screen is most important. Here the Note is kinda a let down in terms of screen resolution. Turns out the Achilles Heel is the screen. Sigh .. just wished they did not have to downgrade the screen to accommodate the larger size.

I sold off my iPhone5S, and started on the Redmi. To me, the Redmi is amazing (especially with the added SD card, dual SIM, good cam, crisp screen).

The Redmi Note is different and loses its appeal after the initial 10mins. I think you can find better alternatives with similar screen reso and size like the Redmi as most MIC phones are.

With Redmi, you can't.

To seek users opinion, I've bought a redmi and waiting for it to be shipped over.

Also very interested to get note when it's available come jun.

Currently using a lousy S2 and can't wait to change it.

1. Should I stick to the redmi and use it?

2. Wait for Note and get it?

3. Wait for redmi S1 and get it?

4. Wait for Oneplus One and get it?

Been waiting for so long already, don't mind waiting awhile longer (up til jun)

Any later than jun think will give up and use the best available phone.

The cheaper the better. Of coz if difference of +-$50 sgd still affordable la.

Need your advice bros. Which phone to get? :s11:

That's way too overpriced. Wait for SG release or ship from china.
