If u purchase at $299 its great value for money.. if u purchased at $419... then its not..
Wrong.. During the price is 419 that era still worth it. Similar specs phone but with 4g are selling 800 to 900. Now with all the heat from xiaomi. Can see Samsung and many manufacturers already price drop for their new phones.

well, to me it was worth it at 419 back then, but i wouldn't call it great value for money. It's pretty close to the Nexus 5 actually. Mi3 has bigger battery, better camera, nicer screen (imo). But N5 has LTE, runs stock Android, fast update, and better dev support. So it really depends on your needs. Now at 299, it's extremely good value for money.

tried out zenfone 5 at afew shops. the phone feels warm even in the aircon room, also worried about the battery life. Decided to no pick up my long waited zenfone preorder and get redmi note instead.
So far I am happy with redmi, hoep redmi note is even better!

And you cannot get ?

every time sale either i busy. or when i go n look. sold out.

i see the price people are asking.

when it normalized to a small amount above from website price.

news of redmi note and redmi 1s come out

the phone is a spare for me. a want not a need.

If i can get it at the retail price from the site, i would buy it.

Thanks for the assistance :)
Hope this info will be useful for others too!
xiaomi sg has yet to get back to me on the technical side of your Q.

i understand that gps lock in time is dependent on weather and location.

is that what you are asking? =X

Seen a few xiaomi note unboxing vids on youtube and the battery is indeed 3100mah....i think somehow somewhere somebody relayed the wrong info about the actual capacity of the battery.

Nope. There are definitely 2 different capacity. See the video below at around 55sec mark. Clearly listed as 3200mAh. And the version below is the same enhanced version as the one for SG market perhaps other than OS and partition.

I think its all down to labelling....

On the box its labelled as 3200mah

On the battery itself its labelled 3100/3200(min/typical)
