I have a set of Redmi NOTE, purchased from xiaomi online store lately.

It was initially reserved for someone, but he who had reserved decided to give it a miss since he would have gone for another model.

My daughter open up to play but find it too big for her uniform pocket. So we intend to sell it off at $220.

May not be the cheapest set around, but it is definitely the most perfect and mint set available. Local set, with 1 year warranty.

If you are interested, feel free to pm me.

*no looking to nego and self collection

Earlier post say $199 plus Starbucks coffee

Looks like resellers coming into this thread

Not enough response from market place? Since news of launch in September

which ROM are you using?

Go to miui English forum. Find the thread with guide to flashing Note W. Inside there for WCDMA there is an AOSP ROM. Flash it and remove all the Baidu apps. Also remember to flash gapps.

Are you able to replace the MIUI interface with another launcher from play store?

I got same problem as you. But I can't be bothered about zenfone 6. It's way too big.
For zenfone 5 here is what's good and bad

Good
Better build
Interface is actually more fluid.
Smaller so easier to handle.
Lighter by 50gram
More color choice
Dual Sim 3g
Better touch screen response.
Currently almost same price as redmi note. By $1

Bad
Non removable batt
Poor battery life
Non back-lit keys
Li-po battery (UPDATE! i realise redmi note also using Lilthium Polymer Batt!)

Redmi note
Good
Big screen
Good battery life
Removable batt
Back lit keys
More accessories online

Bad
Heavy at 199g
Big so harder to handle
Build not as good as zenfone 5
Design not as good. To me.
Some lag when opening app folders
No color choice
Dual Sim 2g + 3g

It sound like zf is better... That y I'm wondering why got many ppl buy xm note compared to zf 5&6. In fact zf 5 selling at 200 n come with earpiece which consider cheaper then xm note come without earpiece.

There must be some factor ....which I would like to know before decide which phone to go with.

I sold mine at cost (phone + glass screen protector), but lose like a few dollar since round off, and have to add transport and time spent to apply screen protector. LOL. Sold just minutes after posting.

Moved off to another phablet in the same category, HTC Desire 816. Redmi Note performance is decent. But the Desire 816 with just a snapdragon 400 at 1.6GHz and 1.5GB of RAM, is faster at everything. Not that the Redmi Note is slow, but the Desire 816 is just noticeably faster. In some instances even the Moto G felt smoother when scrolling in apps, browser, or the app list. Xiaomi really needs to work on optimising their OS.

The Redmi Note is awesome for its price, but for a better experience I would rather pay more for the HTC, and I did.

How's this for back on topic? :s12::s12::s12:

You could try a custom ROM. I have a Nexus 4 and the Note isn't noticeably slower on a custom ROM. The MIUI ROM is a bit slower.

How many of you all actually rooted your notes?

Not used to the MIUI interface after using Touchwiz for so long.

Everything is all within the main page, no "Apps" page to go.
