Anyone encounter driver installation issue on Windows 7?

There is a missing T8850 driver in Device Manager.

Although I can access the phone folder but when transferring picture/video taken from the camera "A device attached to the system is not functioning" always appear.

Yes, halocast is right, if your friend's Redmi Note does not have Google Play, he/she need to go to Xiaomi Market and install Google Installer app by Eric Xiang(link) to get Google Play Store and other Google apps.

the redmi note doesn't seems to have the "Change Service provider" name option like the Mi3?

did they removed that function?

btw my latest firmware is JHDMIBE25.0 and it shows I'm using the latest currently.

I just got my note and I insert the nano SIM card into the phone. But it keep giving me a no SIM card detected error. I do factory rest, on and off many times....but still...sigh......

because the phone needs a normal sized sim... not NANO not MICRO.

If you are using MICRO, use the adapter that comes with the phone.

If you came from HTC M8 or Iphone 5... go buy a nano sim card adapter. Or if you don't mind, use a little bit of blue tack and stick to the micro adapter and put your nano sim on it... just be careful you don't end up having the adapter stuck inside the phone... there is a risk there

For all new xiaomi users to take note

Just managed to set my wallpaper, it's not so direct where you can only set through 2 ways：
- Option in Gallery app
- 'Edit home screen' option.

For lock screen it's even more indirect, can only set through 'Edit home screen' option

In settings -> display -> wallpaper, unable to set through there as it will pop up an error message for some unknown reason, I suspect it's a bug.

And also I hope xiaomi resolves the usb driver issue with Windows 7.

Freeze it first and reboot to see whether got any issues. If not just delete.

Flip the sim card or turn it around.... I think you insert the wrong side.
