Any idea when next sales?

Looks like the northern neighbors already got their tomorrow's sales announced last Friday and nothing here in SG. Guess they might skip this week but there seems to be some promotional about the mi wifi router which might mean that might be the next product line coming on sale probably the week after or later.

Does your iPhone cost $199....PLEASE LAHHHHH......:vijayadmin:

Lol... paying for a 199 expect to perform like 1k phone. .

it ish not the price count, it ish the spec which xiaomi boasted.

if the cheena man wanted to cut cost in order to sell the phone, then they should not put a 13 mp camera into the note. What ish the use of having a 13 mp camera but the photo produced is cmi.

After google the web, found that the photos in their spec on the 13 mp camera were taken from other photographs available in the web and taken by professional. :s8:

Is nothing to do with pricing. Is the brand image that count. If advertised as nn M pixes. Then it better perform as good. Otherwise there is no different between Xiaomi vs other China brand!

If it does not perform as specification. Use Lemon law to address it. It does not matter how much you actually pay for it.

You are most welcome to go ahead and use lemon law to address it.
We will be most interested to see how it pans out.
Do keep us posted on the outcome. Thanks! :)

There is no difference between Xiaomi and other China brands. I guess its their marketing that works thus facilitating yr believe that Xiaomi is different.

With proper marketing, a retina screen phone is worth more than its competitors. But is that really true?

Please be realistic for a $199 5.5 quad core phone.

Ya... So? Take photos with proper lighting.

Asus boast of its low light capabilities but it is really practical. Sure it can capture objects in the dark ... But how and when do u use this function?

In this world everything has to do with pricing. Just because its advertised as 13mp doesn't mean it has to perform up to your expectations. What matters is that it performs up and beyond the expectations of the majority who knows what to expect from a $199 phone. You obviously don't know how businesses work.

There's nothing wrong with their advertising. The camera is indeed 13mp, the EXIF data doesn't lie. More megapixels doesn't always translate to better photos. There are other factors that are just as important like sensor size, lens quality and software algorithm. So a $1000(when launched) iPhone 4 has "only" 5mp but at this price Apple can afford to give it the better sensors, lenses and software. Xiaomi is selling at cost and I don't need to explain further.

So now you understand and learn something
....and you are welcome, by the way! :) cheers

A 13mp CMI camera is still better than a 5mp CMI camera...

For a better understanding of cameras see my previous post..

You are welcome by the way :)

no. a 13 MP camera just means the ultimate digital photograph saved has 13 million pixels. the actual physical sensor resolution is another issue. but more importantly, the sensor quality in various lighting conditions is a totally different consideration to the number of pixels a camera captures

an 8 year old DSLR 3MP nikon would outperform any $20 13 MP camera you buy outside today

megapixels refers to the resolution of the photos saved, nothing more. it's not a useful comparison of numbers for quality

The only phones that perform well in low light are flagship phones.
All the others perform poorly. That is expected.

I am sure its not a BSI sensor and smaller than 1/3.2

I am also sure it uses cheap lenses.

But hey! For $199, its better than I expect.

heard from somewhere that xiaomi can sell so cheap is because of how they probably skimped on their QC.

So maybe products wont last as long
