I also received such calls when holding on to Samsung Note 3. I suspect it could be that our phone information was bought or collected when signed up some draws etc.

chiu can dial any number for sure some one will pick up.

Those china scammers using internet to call chiu by random and if out of 1,000 ppl they called got 1 greedy guy responded, they achieve their goal liao.

It had got nothing to do with brand of hp or anything.

make sense...

maybe the prata flippers are more worried than me.... less ppl buy note after this news..... :s13:

I think it is just coincidental. I did not receive any calls from china on my Redmi Note but I did receive on my iPhone 5 too.

If you ask me, I would think that the china cold calling has always been there, they will just randomly pick a number to call to get you to part with your money one way or another.

In SG, we have the Do Not Call Registry and probably almost all of us have signed up for that so our phones are typically quieter than before. So most undesired phone calls with be from outside our boundary.

Unless the caller can tell you your name and details which you only reveal to Xiaomi or store on their database, you should not be worried about it. I just take what I read about this with a pinch of salt.

will u be worried? :s11:

Singapore Law Watch - Xiaomi under probe over alleged privacy breach

I received a call from china last week from my note - "你会说华语吗?“
I just hang up...

But I also received such call with my iPhone 5 previously.....
No, I am not worried about this. Like what some have mentioned here, these scammers just randomly call any 8-digit number and hope that the person answering it will be one of their victims.

I know that the number calling is random as when they call me, they always never mention the name of the person that they are looking for. I once asked who were they looking to speak to and the person just replied, "I want to speak to you."

This practice has been ongoing for years even before Xiaomi release their phones for sale here, so I feel that the person who made this complaint is just paranoid about it. Heck, maybe he or she works for a competitor of Xiaomi!

Yup, English will definitely be enough to have them hang up the phone.

You could try speaking to them in a totally unknown language. :s13:

But seriously, I don't answer calls from countries I do not know anyone from.

I think it is how fast you can click.

I managed to click for one Redmi Note with bundle and two Redmi Powerbank which I added into my cart. However, when I check out to pay, it says that the Powerbank is already sold out, and the bundle is also sold out. I had to delete them away before being able to check out and make payment.

So it may not be possible to grab as many as you can in your cart but you could not check out in the end.

I suspect for accessories it is max 2 per each. Previously managed to buy 2 powerbank and 1 earphones.

no. The Note's camera working fine and I never try other apps. .

Tried a few time and same msg appeared.

If that's the case, try other apps it could be something wrong with camera 360 app or it doesn't recognize the internal camera

I know it's strange but I've only tried it with the older firmware when I got the phone. Maybe something changed along the way. Now I'm sticking to the default camera with the sd patch.

Unrooted to update the FW, then rooted again.
No issues using Camera 360 , Zoom FX and default camera app.

Camera 360 and Zoom FX can still save photos to SD card.
