Please also take note the nice looking one is Redmi AX5400 gaming edition (with 2.5G port). The normal edition Redmi AX5400 is totally different.
Yes thanks for pointing that out. I meant the Redmi AX5400 gaming edition. Does anyone bought it? How's the experience with it so far?

Thanks. What do you think of AX3200 vs AX3000 performance and spec wise? From the looks, AX3000 wins hands down. :s13:

Performance should be pretty much similar based on the reviews. AX3200 has MTK new chipset and wins in potential OpenWRT support.

And yes I agree Xiaomi AX3000 looks nicer. You can still find local version of Xiaomi AX3000 online (low stocks).

For my previous asus routers, I flashed them with merlin. Do you mean for AX3200, it can be flash with OpenWRT and with that adding more functionalities of an otherwise limited xiaomi device to use their thousands of packages? That would be so sweet. First thing that came to mind is aircrack to go wardriving. Just kidding.... but with this support, yes I can overlook its ugliness that is for sure. :s13:

And AX3000 does not support OpenWRT or any 3rd party firmware flashing?

Had contacted all online shops too, on shopee and qoo10 but all OoS on the local version with local warranty. There is one shop though which jerk up the price and titled it as "SG version" but is in fact just global english version with no local warranty.

Yes that is correct as of now. No SSH access to Xoaomi AX3000 yet, let alone mainline OpenWRT support.

Mainline OpenWRT snapshot version supports Xiaomi AX3200 now. So I believe next official release of OpenWRT will support Xiaomi AX3200.

There are SSH guide for Xiaomi AX3200, AX3600, AX6000 and AX9000. That will help as well to unlock some functionalities of Xiaomi routers.

No xiaomi router?

No Xiaomi router if you are used to the FW features of Asus routers, especially if you are using Merlin. Or if you want long term FW upgrades like your RT-AC68U.

But if you do not care about the above, then you can go with Xiaomi AX3000/3200 or Xiaomi AX9000 local version (with local warranty).

2 storey approx 140sqm.

can advise if i should get 2x6000 or 1x9000 (maybe near future can add additional 6000 for extension?)

No idea what kind of VPN you need for your Roborock model. I highly doubt PPTP (or L2TP) based VPN can work. In fact, you may have to buy VPN solutions like Transocks or Malus if you need to get IP address from mainlan China. And these types of VPN will not work on normal router, rather you have to use your Windows machine to bridge the wifi connection, which may be a bit complicated.

As for Wifi mesh solution, are you able to use Ethernet backhalu? If not, a pair of Xiaomi AX9000 (triband) is recommended. You should go with global version with local waranty in that case as a pair of Xiaomi AX9000 is not cheap.

If you are able to use Ethernet backhaul, then it depends whether you want local waranty or not. Xiaomi AX6000 does not have global version. I will recommend to get a pair of Xiaomi AX3000 (or Xiaomi AX3200) local version first. If the coverage is not that good in certain places, get more units. Or you can get Xiaomi AX9000 (main router) + Xiaomi AX3000 (mesh node).
