Totally different class of product. If you do not need local warranty, just go with Xiaomi.

But please take note if you are using SingTel ONT, then Xiaomi AX6000 can not be used as the main router.

I was on m1, received this today, plug in and unable to connect to network.
old router works fine - plug rj45 and go.

All i did was call the CSO and they reset the modem backend, and vola!
Coming from Asus AC87U (many years of using), this Ax6000 is excellent choice and good price.

Dear all,
I am using a single AX6000, somehow my 2.4ghz AX connection on my wifi 6 phone (snapdragon 865) does not exceed 100mbps speed compared to 5ghz which can go up to 600mbps for 1gbps subscription- any idea how to resolve it?

Forget about 2.4ghz la. That one usually I use for some IOT devices. Even if your tv can do 5ghz today.

I don’t see any problem with dual band wireless backhaul. Unless you really want super super high speed.

Let’s take Xiaomi AX6000. The 5G at 4804Mbps. For example if you only subscribe to 1000mbps plan, your wifi beside main router is 700+mbps? If you do 1 node, then room likely can run to 250mbps? Now assuming if you are just having a 500mbps plan, the wireless speed beside router is 450mbps? Your node maybe 150mbps in the worst case? Also good enough for 4k streaming.

Of course if you use net gear RBK753 etc (3 units triband), then maybe very solid the speed. Dual band not too bad la

For 2.4GHz, I consider anything above 50Mbps to be very good already. If you really hit 100Mbps with 2.4GHz band, consider yourself very lucky already in Singapore because of the congested 2.4GHz band.

I choose to disable 2.4GHz for my main Asus RT-AX82U and use another lower end router and different SSID for the few legacy clients.

Wrong direction to go.
Having powerful router emiting strong wifi signal will cause more wifi interference.

The correct approach is to setup another AP to resolve your coverage issue.

Not so sure as I am not user of any Xiaomi routers. I was thinking of getting the AX6000 or the AX9000 but in the end I decided not to buy as my current Asus RT-AX82U China version is sufficient.

But if you buy the AX9000 and use it as the main router, then use the existing AX6000 as a mesh unit, you should get much better wifi performance at home, even with wireless backhaul, as long as the AX6000 is put in the right place to have good connection with the main AX9000, and closer to your weak signal area.

Hi all, if I were to get the Ax9000 as main router, and add on the AX6000 as a wired mesh node, can I still use the other LAN ports on the AX6000 for connecting to PC or NAS?

OK, then it's easier that I will get the AX9000 first. My study is in the middle of the house. So if the Ax9000 can't cover the entire house, then I will shift it to the hall/dining near DB box and get the AX6000 in wired mesh mode in my study. The study is between the rooms and hall/dining.

if i want to connect 2nd ax6000 to 1st one and form a mesh bet the 2, any idea if i can just connect cable to lan of 1st ax6000 and connect the other end to the WAN of my 2nd ax6000?

Many thanks!

Hi all, I just bought the AX6000 and done setting it up. Signal strength is fantastic as compared to the free Starhub router!

Quick question -- is there a Guest Mode / Network option? Can't seem to find it but I recall seeing this option when I used a XiaoMi Router few years back.

Thanks :)

Yes there is. Use the app to configure.

I tried the app and it didn't have a Guest Mode option. Tried searching the Settings and More Tools folders but nothing :(
