Can I use AX6000 and AX5 or AX6 as mesh? Is the coverage good if I have two storey?

Mesh over wireless works best when the units are placed at good distance from each other.
You need to check your house electrical outlets for optimal locations.

There will not be any concern if it is wired mesh?

Hi All, Need Help, just received AX6000 from Lazada. Managed to setup router though I can’t read Chinese.

3 issues faced:
(1) At times during the day, internet will drop off - meaning connected to Wifi but can’t access the internet. Xiaomi router shows orange light and I have to wait for 30mins or turn off and on router, then works. I am using StarHub 1Gbps.

(2) Is there any settings, I need to do in the Mi App for security in case router vulnerable to hacks, malicious spyware, etc?

(3) Is there any English software/ app as I can’t read Chinese. This router I got is a CN domestic model.

Thank you for all your help! First issue is the most pressing one as a few times in a day will lose connection.

read this elsewhere:

AX3600 has (compare to AX6000):
Better CPU
Better 2.4GHz (dedicated chipset)
SSH access (so VLAN tagging is possible)

AX6000 has (compare to AX3600):
Better 5GHz performance (5% faster, more OFDMA client supported)
Better 5GHz radio coverage (in radar pattern, AX3600 is strong at front and rear, but weak at sides, AX6000 fixed it)
2.5GHz WAN/LAN port

AX9000 has (compare to AX6000):
Best CPU among these 3 routers
Best 5GHz chipset for 5G1 (even more OFDMA client supported)
Better 2.4GHz (dedicated chipset)
Slightly smaller 5GHz coverage than AX6000 due to Tri-Band, about the same with AX3600
2.5GHz WAN/LAN port

AX3600 is a better router and AX6000 is a better AP, AX9000 seems strong but it doesn't give you better coverage

Dual-wan is not supported but possible if you has good knowledge OpenWRT, same as IPTV VLAN tagging

for Qns 3, you can download the Mi WIFI app.

During registration, do select china as your location. Otherwise, you wont be able to scan for your router.

From there, you can manage most of your router's function

You can even activate firewall

If you need desktop access, use chrome and use the translate function.

Totally different class of product. If you do not need local warranty, just go with Xiaomi.

But please take note if you are using SingTel ONT, then Xiaomi AX6000 can not be used as the main router.

Newbie here, may i know why SingTel ONT cannot work with Xiaomi AX6000?

Was planning to get AX6000 to resolve my wifi issues:
issue 1: I have bad wifi connection for the second floor
issue 2: sometimes the wifi will become very slow/drop or devices cannot connect to the wifi. I suspect that this may be due to too many devices connecting to the wifi or the router itself sucks.

I am hoping to resolve :
issue 1 : by getting a mesh node with ethernet backhaul (xiaomi AX1800 or Hauwei AX3 , i am not sure if Huawei can mesh with xiaomi)
issue 2 : by upgrading to a wiki 6 router(Xiaomi ax6000).

currently
SingTel ONT -- Asus RT-AC88U in router mode -- 1) SingTel TV box 2) PC with wifi 5 adapter 3) TV by cable

plan to upgrade to :
SingTel ONT -- AX6000 in router mode -- 1) SingTel TV box by cable 3) TV by cable
SingTel ONT -- AX6000 in router mode -- Mesh Xiaomi AX1800 wired backhaul -- 2) PC with wifi 5 adapter

I am hesitant to use my old router (Asus RT-AC88U i) and AX6000 as a AP , as i am afraid that the wifi 6 will be limited by the old router

Appreciate you advice on what would be the best setup,
Thank you.

Because it does not support SingTel VLAN which is a must for SingTel ONT users.

Global version of Xiaomi AX3600 will work with SingTel ONT. There is no global version of Xiaomi AX6000 yet.

Global version of Xiaomi AX9000 is now available but expensive at S$399.

There is a Courts promotion of Asus RT-AX86U at around S$320. You may want to consider that.

Thank you very much for the quick reply.

Sorry for so many question, but may i know if Asus RT-AX86U can mesh with :
Xiaomi AX1800
Huawei AX3

Could you share the link for the Asus RT-AX86U at around S$320. So far (lazada/shoppee/courts ) all i can find is around S$400.

Thanks

I think i will go with xiaomi AX3600 global version. Xiaomi offical sg store on lazada dosnt carry ax3600 anymore. I assume that the only way is to ask the seller if it is global version? or do you have a link to any reliable seller for global version?

If i cant find xiaomi AX3600 global version, can i use Xiaomi AX9000 instead?

Thanks for all your help.
