If you take a bit of risk and buy the China version from Taobao, Xiaomi AX9000 is about RMB 959 (S$185.5). Even after adding GST/shipment fee, it should be about S$200 plus.
thanks but i guess still out of my budget
any other wifi 6 routers with usb port in the range of ~$100 range to recommend? :o

Hi All,
I am currently using a AX9000+ AX6000 mesh setup. If I add a AX9000 to the mesh, is it possible to connect to the LAN port of the AX9000 mesh to use it as a switch to my LAN devices that have no wifi functions?

Yes, the LAN ports of the mesh node are always functional, no matter you use Ethernet backhaul or Wireless backhaul.

I just got the ax9000.

I can only managed to see 2 wifi bands - 2.4g and the game band.

But can't find the normal 5g band. Even when I entered the ssid and password manually, it still can't find and detect the 5g band at all.

Is my router spoilt?
I'm having similar issue as you. Am I getting the set that you returned? 😅

I found the normal 5ghz band to be much slower to reappear. Definitely more than 5 minutes. Or sometime, not appearing in mobile WiFi list?

What's your experience about the normal 5ghz WiFi, which has 4000mbps bandwidth!

Mi Stores are selling the Xiaomi AX9000 local version at S$239. I think this is a decent deal.

Two use cases -->
1) as single router
2) buy two units to form as mesh solution, especially with Wireless Backhaul, since it is triband. This is a cost effective solution and much more poweful than the lower end triband AX solution like TP-Link Deco X68 and Deco X75.

For mesh, any issue if one is China rom and the other is global rom?

Ax9000 still worth to get these days?

If you need local warantty -- then a pair of Xiaomi AX9000 local version is probably the cheapest triband AX mesh solution out there. That will cost about S$239 x 2= S$468 from local Xiaomi stores when on promotion. It will also perform better than TP-Link Deco X68 and Deco X75 (cheaper triband mesh solution).

If you do not need local warantty, then Xiaomi 10000 (triband, top of the line CPU, 10G ports x 2 + 2.5G ports x 4) and Xiaomi 7000 (fast CPU, dual band or triband, 2.5G ports x 4) are beter buy. Both only have China version and no global version as of now.

I am looking at the Redmi ax5400($90) and Xiaomi 7000($160) at the moment although ax9000 is interesting as well. Warranty not so much an issue for me.

Do you need triband? Only if you need triband then Xiaomi AX9000 is a bit better than Xiaomi 7000.

If you only need dual band, Xiaomi 7000 should be a better choice than XIaomi AX9000 in almost all aspects including wireless performance.

Xiaomi 7000 can be configured as dual band (4x4 AX for 5GHz) or triband (2x2 AX + 2x2 AX for 5GHz ) but it will not perform as good as the main triband mesh node compared to Xiaomi AX9000 (4x4 AX + 2x2 AX for 5GHz).

I wouldn't mind having triband if I can get it locally at a good price. I've got an unused voucher for Lazada and there's lazbonus coming up together with black Friday. Will have to see if the pricing is tempting enough for me to get the 9000.

Necro abit, while waiting for wifi 7 equipment pricing to drop so i can recon my m1

Meanwhile using i am using 3 nodes of asus ct8 so i am here wondering if buying a xiaomi ax9000 and a pair of the ax3000 will it have “visible” improvement over my current setup and justify the hassle of replacing the whole system for this weird idea of mine to use for a year or 2 for wifi7 pricing to ease off .

its like 300 plus for the whole xiaomi setup from local shoppee .

*Originally ad intended to get some 2nd hand xt8 but each unit also will cost 250-300 already .

Using Ethernet backhaul or wireless backhaul? Asus ZenWiFi CT8 is triband AC mesh solution. It is actually more meant for wireless backhaul application (same for ZenWiFi XT8).

If using Ethernet backhaul, you should get decent upgrade in terms of speed with WiFi 6 clients. If using wireless backhaul, then it will be a bit hard to predict.

You may have to post the floor plan with details of the location of the ONT, LAN ports in the rooms and placement locations of the three mesh nodes.

Thanks. In this case, since you have to use wireless backhaul, I do not think it is a good idea to change to Xiaomi 9000 + two Xiaomi AX3000.
