What gpu you’re running and what are your com specs?
I can do 4k with 60hz.
Try install HEVC through Microsoft store and download all the latest driver.
Interestingly, I tried to play 4k Netflix through my pc, 5mins in, keep crashing and show error. The error mention something along the line of drm/hdcp protection... wth...
I7 with GTX970, shouldn't be PC spec problem? Will try tonight with latest drivers again.
Weird problem to have with the 4k Netflix crashing, hmmm..
@Rapture...I have the EXACT same problem as you. With the flickering too but now that is no longer happening. I also can't display 4k and I strongly feel the problem is that we can't get 60hz. We get what 4k-2ksmpte sh*t. Don't even know what is that. Seller told me to head down to Funan mall service centre to check it out with them. Still didn't manage to find the time to go. Please let me know if you found a solution. It is pretty frustrating

Omg. Hello ^5 lol. What did you do that it is no longer happening bro? I seem to get it whether i set to 1080p60z or any of the 4k resolutions. Do you think the issue is with the Mi TV or the Mi Box S? When i use the android/YouTube from the Mi TV only, no flickering at all. Since we have the same problem, unlikely it's a faulty Mi Box S as well? Seems funny both are Xiaomi products but when used together there is an issue.
Ya seller told me to go. He promise got warranty and all..did you try before heading down? I check out the website no mention of mi box s too. Anyway not mitv, is MI box

From this - i gather you think it's a Mi Box S issue?
almost all of netflix's 4k shows are in 4k-2k smpte or 24Hz format, so it is normal to see this when running netflix.
for games, 60Hz is not high enough.
for movies, 24Hz is good enough, this is what you see in the cinema's big screen.
Have tried setting to 4k-smpte, also does not show Netflix 4k UHD in the Netflix app.
For TV to display 4K, the HDMI port must have HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, otherwise, no possible. It might just happen that the connected HDMI port is faulty or has bad contact if there is nothing wrong with the cable and is the correct type. Switch over the next HDMI port and try it out.
Tried several cables and all 3 HDMI ports, all not possible to play 4k. I don't think it's a port or cable issue as YouTube is showing as 4k. And when i switch inputs to the Mi Box S, the resolution pops up at the bottom for a few seconds "HDMI 1".."3840x2160".. Should means it is displaying in 4k?
Thinking of maybe buying a cheaper Amazon Firestick 4k to try. Saw one bro here managed to get on sale at 19.99, but Amazon now showing 35.99. Anyone has a spare one for us to do testing?
