Mi3 is releasing real soon in SG, 16G version. Might be good to wait if you do not want to hassle with apps issues ie. Google Play store. Also it's quite 'china' so lots of stuff are in chinese.
64G versions are being released in China with less of the 'online 3 second dash' type of strategy. I think sellers will be getting it out here real soon.

For those who want 64gb mi3, xiaomi China website has it readily available, no need to queue, can just order and shipped. Just have to find a Chinese forwarder to sgp.

Not v worth it...

For ard $320 without forwarder shipping(approx $15), might as well get Mi3 which is newer and better spec at $419 with 1 year local warranty.

Anyway the same model get from Xiaomi China website even cheaper at around $250+ only.. And Mi2s is last gen phone.. Now in 3-5 months time going to have Mi4 alr :s12:

Anyway the Mi2s can be used on Singapore network.

ok thanks, I just prefer phones with smaller screen and I like the form factor of mi2s. Unfortunately, xiaomi hasn't have plans to bring mi2s to singapore yet.:(

Any idea when is the next Xiaomi sale for Redmi?

Seems like they are controlling their selling pace and not get overwhelmed with orders.

I supposed I could get Xiaomi from the telcoms but I highly suspect they will reserve the stock for potential contract subscribers...

lol, tot can avoid those redmi buys & delivery rants here, sculi all xiaomi thread also same subject.

Appreciate if can consolidate discussions as such:

For stocks/buys/deliveries/esctasy: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/e...mi-redmi-feb-21-@s$169-cheap-leh-4576364.html

For redmi -specific questions: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/android-user-group-323/xiaomi-redmi-thread-4577923.html

For xiaomi other phones and in general: this thread.

Think all equally popular, together with other smaller threads.

Any issues with Redmi GPS?

Hi, its been some time since the Redmi is out. I am contemplating getting a set for myself, but have some reservations due to the infamous GPS issue from the Mediatek MTK6589T chipset.

I had previously used a Cubot GT99 (China Phone) with identical chipset and specs as the Redmi, and the phone was great except for the horrible GPS which took more than 20 minutes to achieve a lock. It matters a lot to me as I use this feature to track my cycling routes.

Any users care to comment on this?

I've used it for jogging and GPS locked in less than 20 seconds with 3G.
