Redmi 1 I on 4.2, 1S is on 4.3. Guess it will be looong wait for 1S to become 4.4

Need help to connect Xiaomi Note to selfie monopod
Hi
Bought a selfie monopod that comes with a white cable to place into the ear jack hole and the monopod operates by pressing the button designed on the pod itself.
But I explored and tried many attempts to change the settings to connect to the monopod to use it but so far not successful.
Instructions given were to do the setting at the camera mode, change the camera button to volume. But unsure if I found the right settings. Any kind soul to help with step by step procedures?
This phone belongs to my friend and we are both new to it.
Was actually thinking of getting it too. But perhaps after I resolve this issue.
Please help. Really puzzled and lost.

hey guys i have a question about miui here
the security>cleaner app function shows that i have a lot of cache for various apps, over 1 GB approaching 2GB. particularly, whatsapp alone has 1 GB of cache.
Has anyone tried clearing the cache using the security app? What happens to the stored data after clearing the cache?
back on my old vanilla android there was a distinction between "cache" and "data". i cleared cache all the time to free up storage space, no problems. But if the terminology there is the same as in miui, how come whatsapp's cache can hit 1GB? i'm just afraid that it might mean stored data as well

your best bet may be to buy from http://xiaomi.tmall.com/, then ship to singapore using taobao's built-in forwarder

why would you go anywhere else? their phones are cheap, means their replacement part costs will be low as well, i doubt you'll save much if at all at those neighbourhood stores
their service centre is at central (clarke quay)

You can flash it with miui 6 as well.. some readup n work will do.

Need to verify on that. Base on xiaomi stype they sell phones with low margain.. as such repair pricr might not be that cheap as it mean additional work of opening up the case...
Might be more worthwhile to get a new one with warranty...
