My main concern is this issue with Google apps. Read on so many forums about people having problems installing any Google app be it Google Play, Google Maps or what not. Some people posted ways to overcome it, with some having success and not others.

Google Apps will be pre-installed on phone release in Singapore(similar to taiwan and hong kong version).

Really? Oh that's even better, don't have to worry about back door methods which work for some but not for others.

stay tuned to HWZ tomorrow!

exciting news to come in 12 hours' time.
This is really good.

I'm kiaisi so probably wouldn't jump on the bandwagon right away but Xiaomi is definitely one brand I'm considering. I'm not brand conscious so I don't give a hoot about ppl laughing at a China brand. To me, practicality is more important.

Mi3's specs look impressive as of today. The phone looks good. MIUI 5 looks great. The price is very competitive compared to other brands. The weekly updates are very impressive. Even Apple doesn't do that.

I guess now its the customer support that remains to be seen. If their customer support is good, there is really no reason for me not to get the Mi3.

As far as I know Xiaomi is not going to set up a physical store so will they be appointing a service centre here?

Review: Xiaomi Redmi - Mobile Phones - CNET Asia

The rear cover is removable, and you can also swap it out for a different color. Xiaomi will also be retailing a bunch of soft gel protective cases for just S$9, which add a different hue to the handset as well. I found the cases to be pretty well made despite its price, and this means you don't have to spend a bomb to accessorize.

Underneath the cover is where you'll find the removable 2,000mAh battery, and I'm told that you can also get an extra battery for just S$10, and in a different color, though no one (besides yourself) will ever see it.

HWZ review: Xiaomi Redmi - A Budget Phone with Endless Customization - HardwareZone.com.sg

There is also an accessories bundle consisting of a clear or matte screen protector, a spare battery, a battery charger and a colored protective case of your choice, which costs just S$28.00. Here's a breakdown of the retail prices of the various accessories which are very affordable in our opinion:

spare battery - S$9.99
battery charger -S$9.99
screen protector (matte or clear) - S$4.99
protective case - S$8.99

Seems like the Mi 3 coming in Mar has no LTE. Sure hope they release a 4G one here soon.

For those who wants to try miui, get it at playstore MI Launcher, after installing, you can install the Singapore theme.

It will make your existing Android phone a chiong MI phone ;p
