I received my S6 MaxV yesterday ordered on 5/6. First time robo vacuum user, find it quite easy to setup and use. I have tried the vacuum only and so far, I am quite impressed with it. :)

$629 minus $20 shop voucher minus $30 electronics voucher minus $10 coins minus $10 HSBC card = $559

The electronics voucher is the $30 off minimum spend $450.

I got it at $579.00 ($629.00-$20.00-$30.00) from the official Roborock shop in Shopee. Thanks to Bro Elon Jobs for sharing the info.

Surprised to receive the ear bud free gift too though they did not actually offer it. :)

Don't bother la.. lithum batteries are very advanced nowadays..
They go into trickle charge mode.

if u off your robot completely and turn it on every time u need to use, it might actually be worse off for the components then keeping them energised 24/7.

Don't scare me, is it really true?

This common question is irritating. LoL. It’s year 2020 and who still off their branded latest smartphone during the day or night. All time users of latest phone battery still last as long. Leave the S5 Max alone, hands off the power button.
Once fully charge the total standby power is insignificant to the cost.

Happened to notice that Trifo Lucy is on Kickstarter but unfortunately imo with their similar dual camera depth sensor tech being build onto S6 MaxV, Trifo Lucy pretty much lost its speciality and its Kickstarter price is not cheap.
In CES 2020, Trifo Lucy was the latest robovac AI that comes with dual camera with depth and night vision capability but interesting Roborock had that same piece of tech on it S6 MaxV. Lucy comes with surveillance patrol feature if user wants something discreet.

The Ecovacs T8 Max (hope to see global version release), will be rather exciting for those who seeks accurate obstacles navigation and avoidance. Currently front camera based sensor avoids objects but yet may lack that precision to navigate around, like camera base vs LDS. With the front laser scanner, allows a robovac to navigate around objects since it knows the shape and size of object to distance and width. However, this piece of tech may yet recognize what is the object is, if I am not wrong. The T8 Max knows to avoid cable and mobile phones but may not know what they really are in human sense.
The laser based 3D scanner on robovac did appeared in Purei9 few years ago but unfortunately, that piece of good potential tech was installed in a crappy vacuum body with high cost, which probably the reason for its poor adoption.

To avoid being mislead by the use of marketing AI, currently the T8 and S6 MV are not considered AI but they are mere better object detection method. Like sonic, infrared, ccd sensor and laser, these are detection tech. None of these models actually knew how to response to the different object situation but just their usual avoid like static algorithm or fuzzy logic.

The closest with some AI for household robovac would be LG R9, which actually differentiate human and pets (can’t remember if it face recognition) and response differently but try asking them to buzz off first before returning later.

no it's false.

what you should do actually:

1. unplug every single electrical appliance when not in use.
2. disconnect your car battery at the end of every drive.
3. turn off your phone every night
4. remove batteries from your TV/audio remote controls immediately after pressing the commands, only put in when in use.
5. turn off all your smart watches at the end of the day.

:D i hope you can feel the immense sarcasm here!

Not true, at least on the s6 MV. It is able to differentiate different subject such as poop and cables and reactive slightly differently. You can't see the different most of the time since for most object it is better to avoid it completely then trying to go thru it.
