I am already using my router for Time Machine. Only thing is that I wish to add the External HDD for time machine, which I cannot seem to use format or select to expand my storage space for time machine. I've checked MIUI forum but to no avail, that's why I'm searching for answers here.

Hi,

Have been using xiaomi R3P, router pro for 2 months. There are some strange issues.
Anyone encounter ads or website block by Baidu security. Look like the R3P is acting like a proxy, sending info for filtering. But there are no setting on the router's web to enable / disable the filtering. Anyone encounter these?

I'm also using the r3p but I use chrome and adblock. How do you know baidu is blocking ads?

Hi Bro, i am currently on Singtel 1G home plan without mio tv, previously was using Aztech FG7008 on unlimited plan. But after recontract, they give me Aztech AC1900 which i am using now. I had purchased the Miwifi R3P (Xiaomi Router Pro) hoping for better coverage...but got problem accessing their internet. Tried cloning/spoofing using both mac address also to no avail, remembered the ST technician mentioned tag and untag when he came to replace the FG7008 to AC1900. Did also tried using the PPOE also to no avail, did i miss out something or some steps ?! Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated, btw, if possible i would not want to use it as an access point AP....thks Q

you can clone the mac addresses, and it works right away.

I think you need to call Singtel and let them know that you have the unlimited broadband rather than with Miotv, coz git VLAN tagging.

Sent from Xiaomi MI MAX using GAGT

What you wanted is actually wireless AP. You can use R3P as wireless AP, very easy to setup.

Thk Q both brudders for your prompt and fast reply... My initial plan was unlimited plan, but after recontract, ST had change it to home plan but without miotv which i am not interested. Since AC1900 suck good time, ST technician had comes changed ont & AzTech before but to no avail. So i though could get a cheap & good xiaomi router pro to improve my home coverage, else meradio always dropped audio while inside kitchen toilet when bathing, btw my ONT & AC1900 is inside hall beside TV. And i do not want it to act as a AP.
Since bro weiyang76 & bro skywander had solved their problem simply by cloning their mac address, so i thought could do likewise like them.....which i didn't manage to...sigh

Thanks bro! Didn't call them, but I copied the old mac address of the old router over into the Xiaomi one and it works now. :):)

Started using the Mi Router Pro a week back and have to say I am impressed by the performance vs it's price. I have been avoiding big names such as Asus for quite some time as I feel it's very overpriced, and this 103 bucks router (including shipping) proves the point. At the same price, I am going to be able to get an AC 1200 range router, across all routers from known manufacturers.

The router looks bulky, but knowing that a big heatsink is cooling the chipset, it's quite assuring that it will not overheat even under heavy usage. So far, the chassis just feels slightly warm, as opposed to my experience with Asus N56U, N66U and TP Link Archer C9, which is normally hot.

i have used the Xiaomi Router 3 AC1200 as a repeater, so far good, using LAN cable to connect to my desktop pci realtek gbe family controller. But the network speed keep showing only 100Mbps......so i thgt it would be my pci is only a 10/100 speed thing......hence i bought a USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter........and still the same. I have also tried changing CAT5e n CAT7 LAN cable....still the speed is max at 100mbps....anyone can advice how to increase the speed.
Is it this model:
https://xiaomi-mi.com/wifi-routers/xiaomi-mi-wifi-router-3-white/
If yes, it only has 100Mbps WAN/LAN ports.

i use this as a repeater at my workplace .... you are correct the lan port is only max 100mb/s

on wireless it can go higher than this.....

as a repeater it's good, i can now get wifi on blind spots at the manufacturing floor.

cheapest dual band repeater out there.

when in repeater mode, [1] can it link to the main router on 5G band and repeat using 2.4G band? [2] can you attach a PC using LAN?

1) yes, that's exactly what i'm doing now, receive in 5ghz and transmitting in 5 and 2.4 ghz. but this router always prioritize 2.4 over 5ghz.

2) i never try this before, don't think this have a wifi receiving mode.
