Noob here. How to get the Xiaomi mini to go beyond 100mbps?

I am plugging it direct to Huawei ONT (M1 1GBPs plan).

I can't get beyond 100mbps both wired and wireless.

Need to dl a 22GB file. Guess got cheated by their claims. (ac up to 1167mbps)

I thought could get at least 200 to 300 plus Mbps even for 1G.

22GB neeeds only 30mins on 100Mbps. not too bad.

ac up to 1167mbps is between your 2 ac devices

on starhub 100Mbps fibre

at the same LAN point, I used speedtest for both the d-link (given free by starhub), TP-Link and Xiaomi Mi Wifi 3 routers

result:
D-Link and TP-Link on 5Ghz
- LAN and Wifi can get 100-107Mbps

Xiaomi Mi Wifi 3 on 5 Ghz
- LAN 90-95Mbps
-Wifi 75-85Mbps

Anyone can advise why Xiaomi router gives so slow speed?

So you mean by buying a Cheaper router i can never get the max or advistised speed even on LAN using the same port as the other 2 router? What logic is this......I do not believe the xiaomi router can be this bad right?

MiWiFi 3 also only have a 10/100 WAN port.

http://www.mi.com/miwifi3/specs/

1个USB 2.0接口(DC output:5V/1A)
2个10/100M自适应LAN口(Auto MDI/MDIX)
1个10/100M自适应WAN口(Auto MDI/MDIX)
1个红/蓝/黄三色LED指示灯
1个系统恢复出厂设置按键
1个电源输入接口

hi guys. i really need some help.

i am currently using a asus RT-AC87U and i am not able to get wifi connection at some point of my house. i do not wish to relocate the router as that location is where the ONT is.

i have done some simple check using my phone wifi bar for ez illustrations :

Router > Location A > Location B

1. From router to Location A i am able to get a 3 bar a.k.a full bar (about 800m)

2. From Location A to Location B i only able to get 1 bar or sometime 0 Bar. (about 800m)

from what i see, i might just need am repeater to do the job or i might be wrong?

Any bro can help to intro xiaomi router for me, or the usb powered xiaomi repeater can do the job? hope to be small. but if the size affects the performance, i dont mind it to be bigger.

if there is a few to choose from, can please tell me the different?

i should be able to get it from china when my friend visit there.

Thank you very much!!! =D

In theory, between your pc yes. But not to wan port.
This is the same as what your purchase from telco. 1Gb plan only applicable at best from your home to telco.

Can I plug into the lan of the TP-link router and link the lan cable into a Mi youth router to give out wifi in the master bedroom.

Thanks A Lot.

yes, by connect the lan port of tp-link to the lan port (note: not WAN port ) of mi router. You need to disable dhcp of mi router too.

I suspect my Singtel FG7003GR does not auto switch channels very well causing poor wifi connections. How do I go about setting up a Xiaomi Nano router to replace the FG7003GR?
