Xiaomi's Routers!

One thing good about this pro router is that the VPN client (pity no server) actually works. I can connect to my friend's HK VPN and watch mytv super on my Ipad which is currently on iOS 10 and no more PPTP support..

The only thing is that the miwifi android app doesn't seem to be very reliable when trying to connect to the router. And edge seems to be more compatible with the router setup page as I get timeouts sometimes if I navigate using chrome

No, those that are going for about 100 bucks don't come with hard disk. You need to get a portable one instead to plug into the USB port just like any other routers.

literally just replace what you have currently with the router and set up using the mobile app.

Replaced my Asus Ac56U with Xiaomi r3p. Ever my 4 rm master bedroom toilet with all door closed, can reach 100Mbps on my M1 200Mbps plan.
Super happy about it and paid less than $120.
One problem, my mi box was suffering from low speed either on 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
It was less than 1mpbs for both frequency. It was not too bad when it was on Asus ac56u.

Anyone has any idea to resolve it? Other devices, the performance was superb.

I saw earlier posts regarding issues on pairing Xiaomi Pro Router with Singtel Fiber ONT. Any brother can confirm or share the correct configuration? Any out-of-the-box profile selection like Asus RT-AC68U?

got my mi wifi 3 today for 30$.a little bit of research, patience and upgrading of firmware and i got it to work as a 5ghz repeater. improved my room Internet speed from 2mbps to 100.

I recently got myself a xiaomi router pro. But when i connect a rj45 cable to the ethernet port of the router, wifi is connected but internet is unavailable. No connection error for sure as previous router from singtel was setup this way too.
When i link a lan cable from singtel router to xiaomi router's ethernet port, connection and internet is available with xiaomi router.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Tried Firmware update and router factory reset.
Please help me thanks alot.

singtel requires special config on many 3rd party. its not plug and play.

To circumvent, try this
TP -> ONT -> ac plus/ac elite router -> xiaomi router pro (in AP mode)

If you are a new subscriber, you should be getting a ONR
TP -> ONR -> xiaomi router pro (in AP mode)

Never like it as it use MTK processor. Not sure on newer model.
