Hi, anyone can help to guide me or forward me a link on how to setup my mi wifi router mini as a repeater? thanks heaps!

For you maybe follow till step 8 and perhaps try the stable one.If not the development version

If you can read chinese then good. For me i can't and it was luck, i just click and click and then the miwifi mini became a repeater

recently i just purchased the xiaomi wifi router and using singtel unlimited fiber plan.

what mode should i set to:
1. normal mode
2. repeater mode with no line
3. repeater mode with wired connection to singtel modem
4. flash to dd-wrt so it can support wireless client bridge mode)
so that I can stream the content from xiaomi router's usb port (connected to portable hdd) while i connect to singtel modem's wifi??

1. set the ip no of mi to an unused number (out of singtel router's dhcp range)
2. disable dhcp on mi
3. mi on normal mode
4. connect mi to singtel router by lan, normal lan port to normal lan port, don't use wan port.
5. You can access the hdd via mi's ip no. You can either connect to mi's wifi or singtel's wifi.

I've got one of the 2nd gen routers with a built in harddisk.

Does anyone know how I can get the IP address of the built in harddisk? Whenever I entered the IP of the router(intenet explorer or windows explorer), it always sends me to the router settings page.

So now I can see the harddisk from my desktop "My Computer", but I'm trying to access it through the network and hence require the ip address.

It's amazing how this small router can run purely on portable power bank. I also love the ability to set on/off timer, as well as periodic restart, so that I keep the router refreshed.

Just FYI, the xiaomi wifi amplifier does work with other brands and not just xiaomi. I tried it on my asus ac66u.

Anyone using xiaomi router can share some experience? Is it able to directly download using IDM or torrent to the built in HDD? Can android or iOS stream the media directly from it after that? As long as mkv (with DTS/ac3), rmvb or mp4 works I'm ok.

For my singtel modem i got 4lines-1 blue for in broadband, 1 shd be for miovoice, 2 yellow lines i dont know what for. Sorry i am not good at IT. Pls give me link with pictures if any? Thanks in adv!!!

HI it is a standing black box with ports behind. There is one port for broadband, another named 1,2,3,4 ports. I dont know what is this ? Btw currently i got miotv, miovoice.

Erm do u see the singtel logo on the router? If you do, you are likely running on 1gbps home fibre or fibre entertainment bundle+.

Anyway, now the concern is, how to get your xiaomi router working right? Sad to say, if u r running any home fibre plan or fibre entertainment bundle+ plan, it will not work due to no vlan support on xiaomi router.

You can still use xiaomi as an access point though..

plug from LAN to LAN lor.. then disable DHCP on xiaomi. i dunno if there is any built-in access point mode for it. if there is, it will simplify a lot..

can you describe properly what is your intention. may be show a diagram here to describe what you have done.
