On my white Acro S, the top flap is chrome plastic. Doesn't look like it is painted so don't think will paint peel off. The side flaps are white plastic with chrome trim.

My only concern is
1) The chrome may becomes dull in color or change to grey-ish after sometime. (happens with my other product with chrome treatment)
2) The rubber holding the flaps might snap after sometime, as rubber will harden over time.

ya u r correct
on white acro the caps is glossy coated sliver color

black acro cap is also coated with dark gun metal color


both color looks.nice actually
black got a later of coating feeling rubber I scared it will be hair lines

white still can cover up

same as s3 white can cover up
while it blue one can see all the hair line scarch

ya the rubber gasket on the caps ta might degrade as it ages
it common plus open and close to charge
but lucky it comes with a docking

wait for xperai T and TX liao
since it for news of it I hope by Sept will have some news

The silver coating will be scratched off after some time due to wear and tear. The same thing that happened to xperia arc.

Wait for next flagship, a wise choice.

another question bros is the white arco also rubber back or smooth plastic...i read cnet review saying the sides are smooth and feel abit slippery, how true is it? Concerned cos i have sweaty palms..

black back cover feels more rubbery
white back cover feels lesser rubbery

black acro frappy cap is gunmetal glossy
white arcro frappy cap is glossy sliver

take your pick haha
the side is same as the back cover

Remember the acro s is built for water-resist? The phone material will not be slippery.

i think most user dont submerged the phone in the swimming pool
or bing to sea hahaah
sure get corroedd by sea water hahaha

maybe rains lor should be good enough to block it
actually all xperia got a layer of screen scatter proof layer on it
means usually we wll paste one more layer on top

Its only water-resist, not dive-resist. The water pressure is greater at lower depths.

Xperia Acro S

I read that most of the website say the screen is made of a special scratch-resistant glass. Then why my 1 got scratches? I don't have a screen protector yet. I didn't even put it near any scratchable material e.g key..... Anyone also having this problem?

Is there any pre-installed screen protector?
