Yen is hovering at 16 region. currently at 15.98

@telur !

sorry to bugger you but was house ikebukuro really that good ? im quite confused now, went to google up about it and found out a few bad reviews of house ikebukuro.

someone was complaining its walls are paper thin and some people just tend to be very inconsiderate and yak all night.

im going to try to book on monday and make a request for the 2nd floor rooms. saw some pictures of it from someone else's blog. pretty OK IMO. just dont like sharing internet with others :p and want me own wifi :o and the curfew thing, have to return by midnight, is it strictly enforced ?

i dont like that, i wanna explore tokyo around at night without any restrictions. its really nice. but the curfew thing really gets at me. might stay at kimi ryokan instead though.
i thot kimi ryokan oso has curfew? House Ikebukuro was ok the last time I tried it. I was on the second floor in the main building. We didn't go back too late, perhaps 10-11 latest, so the curfew didn't affect us. I understand the annex has no curfew though.

I didn't really hear noise from any other rooms n to be honest, my friend and I were too tired to use the Internet. Don't intend to bring a pc along with us so wifi is not an issue for me. :o I like the place primarily cos the rooms are v reasonably priced, location is convenient for me and I liked being able to converse easily with the staff and other people who stay there. :)

as this is the yen exchange rate thread, maybe we should keep discussions abt accom to the main thread or in a separate thread. :)

Stayed there last April.

Very good experience. Cheap rooms bout SGD 30-40 per night, nice clean toilets.
Don't know about curfews.

About people yakking at night, didn't experience that. Although my friend said there was a night where a group of people were talking very loudly outside the door while packing their luggage.

But I guess meeting such people is inevitable.

Think the best you can do is to book early so that you can get private rooms or at least where the majority is your own people.

The 3 of us were in an 8-man bunk so we were not the majority.

@ telur

yea, still aint that bad.

i saw @ suntect today the rate was 15.93. i hope the rate falls further but it dosent seem likely given profit taking for 1Q results should be out in march.

STI will probably bleed badly on that day so that should have an impact on the exchange rate.:o making the worse out of a bad situation.

I just changed S$1000 to yen. Just noticed that there different design for the same denomination.. So I am wondering is there any notes which are no longer usable cos I read on wiki that the old 1000 notes are suspended due to large amount of counterfeits..

hi... i went to mustafa online to check.. by rite we should check the buy or sell column? Buy is 15.66 and sell is 15.89... and how is it calculated?

Is it S$1000 / 0.01566?

it mean 1000 yen for SG$15.89

if u are changing from sgd to yen, look at the sell column. 'sell' means the price they are selling to u.

if u are still unsure, just take the value that is worse for u. cant go wrong with that :D
