I've changed at sheen and fountain money changers. Both gave me nice, crisp new 10,000 yen notes.

So far, yen notes are rather clean and new.

So it's proven Friday rates can be comparatively good for those who are wondering. One of the fri/sat a few weeks ago also.

This week might be due to analyst looking at BOJ monetary easing at their month end meeting..

Need to change 1k more..so far out of 3k changed, I average out at 1:87

Not too bad la, we all still better than those changed at 12

u dun believe me………………..small shops will reject dirty YEN…………..it is the same for US$$$$, no Jap bank will accept 'jaded' US$$$ in Japan.

Not bad. Seems like exchange rate is in favour of us. Is the yen dropping or SG dollars strengthening? I thought MAS wants the sing dollars to maintain.

I've used a couple of pretty aged notes (i.e. 1K denominations) with no issues and am curious really.

in the 1990s, i once used Hitachi ATMs that could sterilise bank notes…………if u dun believe can check lor………the neighbourhood provisions store owners won't accept dirty notes when i last lived there..
