think going to change now. it's kinda risky to adopt a wait and see approach now?

If it really does goes back up to 12, ask yourself if you're okay with it. There's always upside and downside. With the oil in its current state today, I foresee yen to go back up for a bit more.

Disclaimer: My words don't mean anything so please don't blame me if rates go up or down. :s13:

Well sorry to ask such a noob qns... but what's the reason for this sudden sharp increase in Yen exchange rates?

I thought it was Abe intention to devalue Yen as much as he can so that Japs products will be cheap enough to be sold overseas? And of cos to attract tourists?

SG$$ exchange rates seems to be quite stable against USD and other SE Asian currencies..

SOB SOB!.... now how to go Hokkaido again? :s22::(

Ok la... compared to 60yen=SG$1 when I was there in May 2013, it is still a great time to go Jap now :D:s13:

maybe this rate is the rate jpn is comfortable with and hence they stabilising it somewhere here. even if rate is needed to be kept low, it needs to be stable.

agree! I went on the first week of Sept. that's when I changed 12.27 and came back with low 11. Left 72,000.. makes a lot of difference so I can't bear to change back and keep holding on.

Decided to change later.

Next week will continue to hike.

Reason for yen increasing is because oil and Euro went down, so alot of ppl dumping oil and energy assets and going into USD and Yen which are considered safe haven currencies.

This has nothing to do with BOJ.

should can. even if 1 outlet can't, there's other outlet around there which can definitely match the same rate mah. so, maybe can split 2 if really can't.

Thanks bro , or is there anyway that I can open account to trade it online ? Don't want to keep so much paper at home lol

Trade and keeping yen are two very different matters. Firstly the exchange rate that you got your yen from money changers is different from the online trading rate. Actually it's probably one big envelope worth of notes? If you don't want to keep the notes, the best suggestion I can give is to not change now.
