Still happy compared to the bad old days of $16 to 1000 yen.

I don't understand the Safe haven effect. Japan depends so much on China for its trade sales and payments. Yen should be getting hammered when their major trading partner kena hammered with bad news

But no ! It goes up summore. Gila.

There a possibility drop below 80???

the possibility is around 70% , this few weeks or months
bull market over, need to unwind trades, all reverse thats why yen appreciate
for those who wish it will go back to 90, it is impossible, unless it go back to 70+ territory first

Well, just to have to look at JPY price level (SGD16-17 per 1000 yen) after the Tohoku earthquake period when their economy was in the dumps to know it doesn't matter.

Question now is whether Kuroda print more money or US raises interest rate first and that is assuming SGD doesn't weaken further which it probably would...

I been to Japan 5 times

Feb 2012, April 2013, Nov 2013, April 2014, Nov 2014.
So far the rate now, only Nov 14 is better. The rest of those trip yen was stronger than now

I will be going Nov 2015, I don't worry that much. Even at 80. it is still fine actually.
