Currently at about 1.5-1.6 mil - mixture of hard work and frugality, I think.
Now in a very comfy job that affords a lot of freedom (and pays quite well too), so just trying to milk it as much as I can while learning other skills on the side - always good to stay prepared and up to date on the market.

Since May 18 my networth is up 0.98% (less than 1%) :s13: which surprised me considering my expenditures. I doubt it will hold up anyway looking at how the economy is shaping up to be for 2019.

That’s pretty comfortable retirement with HDB rental able to cover daily expenses.

Yea. Working class with no white horse background and I am satisfied I have managed to come this far.

Btw, I have zero debt. Only one daughter now awaiting A level result.
Hopefully she can get into local U. If not, I am prepared to send her overseas.

Congrats! May I know your work background? Like did you get into senior management or was it some high flying finance career or something?

you say they are starting late, but maybe early on they are investing their time and effort in their career rather than wasting time surfing internet investing forums... for the first 10+years of your working life, your wealth increase is mainly going to come from improving your salary, not stock investment returns

These are very encouraging words! :s13:
I was depressed why i never join SSI, learn and accumulate earlier, like 5 years ago, now market is ATH and dying slowly for a big crash. Well my target retirement still 15 years off, i can see qualifications still adequate, i am better than average! :o

I'm inclined to agree. Increase salary by increasing employability/marketability, do side hustles, and importantly control spending (to a sustainable level).
