Lucky enough to make some good gains this year amidst the volatility - YTD gains and 1M gains.

Vanguard Total World Stock ETF-0.96%
Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF+0.11%
Vanguard S&P 500 ETF-3.65%
Invesco QQQ Trust-8.94%
iShares MSCI All Country Asia ex Japan ETF+2.05%

YTD returns of US ETFs.

- AI stocks are rationalizing its valuation
- value stocks trump growth stocks
- globally diversified funds, as always, are a good deal and this time is flat
- US is underperforming the world

Still maintaining liquid networth of S$1.3M+. Didn't track returns but probably flat or slightly negative YTD. Job getting unstable.. 😔

Not really. Probably around 4 trades per week. I decided to cash out a substantial amt into safer places like money market funds and bonds funds (enough to cover all my mortgages - low 7 fig) so I could afford to be a bit more adventurous with my trading.
Took quite a bit of resolve to do that as I had crazy lofty dreams of having enough to afford a detached haha, so this move might have put brakes on that dream.
45% in a month is pretty insane, are you a daytrader?

Barbell strategy is good, my returns are also much higher in the past year due to this strategy, but my trade frequency is lower than yours, probably average one trade a week.

oh wow, I didn't even know there was a name to this "strategy". Thanks for letting me know!

"James Wynn" once had $100millions in 2024-2025, now has only $900.

Big profits mean nothing if you cannot minimize drawdowns.

I asked AI whether James Wynn is a real account, AI concluded its likely to be a staged/constructed account. "Hyperliquidation" is a great clickbait title. 😅

SP500 at all-time high.

In one months trading mainly spot natgas, crude oil and silver, I managed to 2X (+100%) my CFD trading account.
No wonder, those bankers and hedge funds make so much money.... make price increase so much and tax every consumer.
I view this as a short-term anomaly. Because, the crude oil became very directional and affected every other commodity in a predictable correlated fashion.

Stocks Portfolio YTD (11 Apr)

P&L: $1,010,043.47 (+13.8%)
Realised: $49,023.73
Unrealised: $961,019.74
Nice 13.8% profit of SGD1M+ in less than 4 months. Meaning your capital base is just under SGD10M. And these are just your investible funds. If add other personal funds /assets for living expenses etc. Probably 20M networth 👍 💪🏽

If you study carefully, it's the AI semiconductor supply chain that is the reason. The suppliers are in Taiwan (TSMC, chips), South Korea (memory) and Japan (chemicals, tooling and PCB).

So, IMO, US underperforming the world is an apparent side-effect but not meaningful for understanding.
