Growing wealth should take years and lots of patience. People are jumping on the bandwagon of crypto because of fast return and are expecting the same of other assets

Was doing a regular banking update and noticed that SGFindex is able to get the value of your SGX CDP holdings... but banks like SCB haven't implemented it. I have to use SGFindex with SCB for the most 'accurate' net worth because my SCB online trading account value is not transmitted to any other bank.

Once SGFindex is linked, I more or less can calculate networth by adding the value of IBKR + FSMOne + SGFindex.

my networth down half a million or down 64% from holding growth tech stocks and chinese tech....haiz, the worst year in stock investing for me. Really should have cut losses for my losing options and stocks. i sold a HK Chinese tech put options with zero open interest, i want to close position also cannot, end up that option tank 300% while the stock tank 75% and still havent expire, only on 30 Dec. Looks like i got to see out that put option and buy at 70% loss at expiry....really learnt a lesson

Sorry to hear that. I also made concentrated bets in the past and lost money and now I am mostly diversified.

I think many people are affected badly from the growth stocks and Chinese stocks meltdown, but they also made lots of money from the same themes in 2020, so it is just giving back some of those gains.

I remember the Uber bullish @d9_lives his last seen in the forum in Mar 2021, wonder what happened to him.

I'm sure you have caught the upside earlier. I think can't always use the peak net worth to compare with current as that would further cause our "loss aversion bias" to kick in. Given the volatility of your choice in investment as well.

Just average out and calculate your XIRR over your long term investment history. If it's decent positive number then you are doing fine.

Must see whether he caught the upside. If he enter in 2019 or early 2020 then should still be positive. If he enter after that then it's really painful.

Hey man I am still here. I forgot my password 😅 and I reset it just to reply you.
How are you doing?

China stocks are NO BUENO in 2021 but I see it as a great opp. to buy more shares.

My port. in IBKR is YTD is -14.02% from catching the falling knives. I have 1.9k BABA hk shares @2xx and I will buy some tomorrow (what's wrong with DBS bank???)
All my marijuana, psychedelic, space,. Lkco and Palantir are also burning.
I am loving it as I am still accumulating.

I found wallstreetbet a few month ago and learned about the infinity money glitch. It's 2-3k free money/month from selling calls (could be much more if I am braver)

We crossed 2M in combined networth this year.

My early year purchases of EIMI also underperformed. ISAC which I have been buying since Mar 2021 also underperformed relative to IWDA. But all in all, I think the upside is there for sure.

Yep, weekly to monthly way otw covered calls and switch to cash secured put if i got called and switch again if get assigned = profit.

While waiting for my next paycheck, this is what a bagholder like me can do.
It ain't much but it's honest work.

I caught upside, but upside didn’t use margin, downside selling options is using margins, so get margin calls now. So basically gave up all my gains for the past 5 years.

My stats over the years:
This year not bad.
19% total networth growth.
12% growth if I exclude new salary savings.
I have managed to save 75k each this year and last year thanks to no travel and WFH.
Next year if markets keep chugging along like this hopefully can hit 1.5m.
200k more to go, if markets crash could easily lose 100k

Figures in SGD '000
