I use it all the time though it gets in the way sometimes but it can be moved to any part of the screen.

I don't have Mi- Assistant on my US set as well. How do u get the download speed on the status bar? Build in or 3rd party?

It's under Display Settings. Can set to show battery percentage and network rate.

You can customise your Mi-pop, mine I customise 1) backward 2) lock 3) home 4) clear and 5 screen capture, on all 5 slots

Ah ok, press and hold then the options for Lock screen, power off, etc comes on.

There isn't a option to transfer.
Usually you can transfer a part of the app data to SD card to free up internal storage
