1 Toyota Wish is comfortable for 4 adults with 4pcs of 26" luggages.

If you expect to squeeze 7 adults and still has room for 7 pcs of luggages, you are going to be disappointed.

Never risk to overload the vehicle cos if unlucky get into accident, the driver cannot claim any insurance, if passengers injure also cannot claim insurance.

cant claim the insurance they buy for us? what if we buy our own travel insurance also cant claim ?

thanks micey for the reply.

Hi noted may i know the market rate for it? Do i need to book in advance or can i flag a cab from CJ?

Pretty difficult to flag a taxi in CJ as Taiwan taxi is unlike SG taxi, can suka suka flag one by the roadside.

Even if you see a empty Taipei taxi in CJ, you flag the driver cannot stop for you, unless you can find a empty Nantou taxi. The most easy way is get the hotel/minsu to help you call for a taxi.

Also cannot claim cos your insurance will refer to the Taiwan police report while processing your claim, if they find these 2 words 超载 on the police report, you can kiss your insurance goodbye.

Just came back from Taiwan and if anyone is looking for a Taichung driver, I highly recommend Mr Li.

He is a very nice driver and most value for money, was quoted 3k for a day while other drivers quoted me 3.5k and up. During the trip he even bought us some betel nuts and pipa fruits to try and offered us a free ride to the train station the following morning!

Only downside is he only speaks Chinese, what's app him at +866 979 600 538 in Chinese if you are interested. He resides in Taichung but is willing to provide service in the whole of Taiwan.

I am planning for a taiwan trip in November.

Is it too early to book the private driver now? Planning to book 2 drivers, 1 for the Taroko Gorge and the other for the Taipei Outskirts tour.

Good to plan early. Do up your itinerary first then ask quotation from different drivers.

I usually will book the same driver for multiple days. If he cannot make it for any day, usually he will get his friend to take over for that day. If i find his friend better or more knowledgeable than the original driver, i will get his friend's contact for future trip.

I was quoted NTD6200 for a Day tour of Taroko gorge & Qingsui cliff tour from Taipei.

Is it considered cheap? It is for 4pax.

I would take train from Taipei Main Station > Hualien TRA then hire a taxi from Hualien from 3000NT onwards for day tour.

You should stay overnight at Hualien and visit the 3 night markets there 自强夜市, 南濱夜市 and 東大門夜市。

I meant taking the HSR from Taipei to Hualien.

If I plan to take the Puyuma train to Hualien(0720am or 0740am), is there mrt travelling from ximending towards Taipei main station at 6+am?
