Recommend Cab Driver

Just got back from a 6D5N trip to Taipei with my parents and gf. Took up one of the recommendations for one of the driver contacts here and was definitely not disappointed.

Kele (可樂) aka 陳韋豪 is actually the group leader of this tour group: 風"台灣包車自由行

Though Kele couldn't take us, he arranged for another experienced driver, 林建良师傅. It was the first time for my parents and I to Taiwan so we really didn't know what to expect. From greeting us at the airport upon our arrival, to helping us push the trolley with our luggage and carrying our bags, this left us well impressed even before the end of the first day.

We went on 2 separate day trips, one to 九份/十分 and the other to 阳明山. Each day he would take us to a different breakfast place to try some of the authentic local taiwanese breakfast like the 豆浆油条 and 牛肉面. At every destination, he kept offering to help us take photos and even suggested like other cute poses for my parents. Most importantly, Mr Lin was a very safe driver. Wherever you go, safety should be the priority because nobody wants to get into any trouble, especially on a holiday.

To sum my experience up, Mr Lin was very friendly, warm-hearted and helpful. He even offered to drop the items at our hotel while we went to Taipei 101. It was a bonus as my parents could talk to him very well.

i'm going with my family; total 9 pax(6adult 3 kids)
i contact 3 drivers and all said 9 pax need to book 2 cars.
anyone travel before in groups of 9-12? can share your contact n charges ?

Have you been contacting those yellow cab drivers? From experience, some will outright reject, some may recommend 2 cars (esp if their circle of drivers are all yellow cab drivers), others may be a middleman to refer you to drivers with bigger vehicles.

You will need to contact drivers with 9-seater. I contacted a 7 seater VW and there is still a luggage compartment which the driver assessed that he has no issue if I have 4 full-sized luggage, a big backpack and a stroller. I will assume that a 9-seater will be able to do the same.

The 9-seater I contacted so far charge a flat rate of 6500NT/day even if we are staying within the vicinity of his city.

They count by per head, no care whether kid or adult.
if your group has total 9 people, you cant take the 9 seater car.
of cos there are still some drivers willing to take this risk, but if anything happen, I am sorry to say you cant claim any insurance.

Ya, the drivers told me they are quite strict on the rule of per head count regardless kids or adults. Thus so far only recommended me two car.

Mpv at max is 8 seater (inclusivd) of drivers. Wish is a mid size Mpv and is a 7 seater. Difference between mid and full size Mpv is space and comfort of passengers. If you are traveling long distance, you would prefer a bigger space.

Some drivers are willing to take the risk to overload.

my one about 9000+per day and 2 airport (inclusive) but it is all around the island not just one city.

1 Toyota Wish is comfortable for 4 adults with 4pcs of 26" luggages.

If you expect to squeeze 7 adults and still has room for 7 pcs of luggages, you are going to be disappointed.

Never risk to overload the vehicle cos if unlucky get into accident, the driver cannot claim any insurance, if passengers injure also cannot claim insurance.
