Neither do I.. all along it was this guy creating awareness to burn agents and insurance nia... nothing new

Plus! Term Life IMO only good for people in the older age group.
Younger ones would certainly need more than $200k coverage, while this is cheap, tagging along another say, $300k SA with another plan + CI would still make it costly... haven done any calculation to verify my claims yet.
Yup that's why I have been saying everyone's situation is unique and what suits me (e.g. old man) may not suit the young lads. However, its always good to open up and see what else is available out there.

Rare to find people like yourself who can see things from different perspectives and understand that there is no one size fit all solution.

I think thats what we have been trying to bring up. But usually because it is from an agent, such genuine discussion or views arent taken in very well.

Because agents only recommend their products when there are much better low cost alternatives

15 years uob life guaranteed endowment plan, Survival maturity value $35773

This should be one of a pure endowment plan given by uob in the early day, but also a lot of WL plan commonly used to project at 6% and 9% yield. The E plan had the last laugh.

No more liao.....I think they extinct...since early 2003 or so.

You are funnier, better ask moderator change thread title...to something is endowment policy relevant? Should you buy endowment of not etc. This thread has digress way off topic.

We should be discussing what alternative help is there to TS problem such as approching fidrec, media, etc. What has he being a skeptic got to do with his issue? You got read or not?

What makes u think he created a thread just for awareness? Nvm...you guys eat too full...keep on having these similar threads....one side say insurance is total scam, the other said useful if you know your stuffs...nothing new.

Out of here, you can continue follow this thread and give your 2 cents. Cuso.

TS = akwl88

akwl88 is not the one who bought the policy, he only reposted the link from somewhere else. obviously, TS = akwl88 is a skeptic based on his replies here and he doesn't need any help at all. So why did he create this thread? for awareness, duh. if you want to help the "real" TS, go straight to the facebook link and post your "help" there. obvsly, everyone else knows approaching fidrec, MAS, CAS, etc is useless.. so why waste time suggesting it.

That's why your info is outdated.
Anyway, time changes, sso does product. Don't use some lousy ass 10/20yrs ago product to screw insurance agents today.

#justsaying

see, that's the problem with your agents' kind of attitude. if the product is some lousy ass product, why the insurance company even had it in the first place? just because its a 10-20years ago product, it doesn't mean that insurance companies now doesn't have any other lousy ass products? so its my fault I signed up for a lousy ass product.. nothing to do with the agent.. and if I wasn't smart enough to cancel it within 1 year, I would have lost even more $.. and of course, its all my fault, nothing to do with the agents and the insurance companies while they drive their BMW and go for their happy incentive trips.

and btw.. prucash was one of the hottest selling products back then.. so now its a lousy product ? so all the agents who pushed it back then all suck and none of them are agents now anymore ?

Hi-5! I got 2 of these. Yup it's extinct, since then a lot of 'ingredient' being added in and many ppl just go for projected >6/9% plan and those days it's a common believe that they will receive $100k or 200k in future. Everyone is confused between sum insured and surrender/mature value and I look stupid to them:(

You miss out on the protection value offered by endowment.

Let say someone signed up for an endowment, the next week he dies, then his family will be able
To get a lot based on what he has already paid.

a lot meh? most death benefits for endowment plans are only at 105% of what you have paid so far, unless you have extra riders.

most endowment plans usually have 20k-40k maturity value for the common folks, so that's just an extra $1000-$2000.

I am not a skeptic

I see unethical agents and useless products being peddled, i create awareness

Insurance sole purpose is for protection, not for investment

IMHO, Pru Cash is an absolutely rubbish product. Existed for at least 2 decade and always come back in slightly different form and shape.

It's a classical heads you (insurer) win, tail I (policyholder) lose policy.

Ern, it is indeed a lot, definitely not 105 % of what you have paid so far. :)

can point me to the correct type of policy you are talking about ?

e.g for pruwealth, only

Death Benefit
The higher of:
a.105% of the total premiums paid (excluding premiums for supplementary benefits (if any) less any bonus surrendered^(if any); or
b.101% of the surrender value

less any amounts owing to us.

^ this would be the amount paid out when the bonus was surrendered

So simple.

Your spouse will inherit some of your assets and can get to marry a new husband. :s13::s13::s13:
