I use China phone before, if it not support by google, even though you manage to side load google or google service, there is high chance that it will not function as a proper phone, example, I use Nubia or gionee, I manage to install it, but for some reason, the WhatsApp message will stop running in the background, meaning you will not receive any notification of new incoming message or the message will only come in when you open the app, same for email and other stuff
I don't think that's Google's fault. Perhaps it's a bug in the Android implementation of the manufacturer. Or maybe they have some aggressive power-saving feature that kills apps that continue running in the background. There should be some setting that allows the user to whitelist apps that should be allowed to run in the background. Huawei's EMUI has that setting under the "Battery" section of the settings screen.

Coming from an owner of Mate 20 Pro, Mediapad T3 and Mediapad M6, NOPE.

Once Google is out, I'm out. And I wouldn't even consider buying Mediapad M6 if cannot self install Google Services.

According to the net the chinese companies are banding together to start a common messaging system or something like that. Search for that info.

China Mainland can survive without any Google services. I see people around the world will just switch to other alternatives. Those China Apps may have more and more interesting contents to watch anyway. In fact some people like their phone without those Google Bloatware. The loss will definitely come from GOOGLE side.

The stupid Chinese just blindly follow patriotism trends lah. People use Whatsapp, they use Wechat. People use Twitter, they use Weibo. People use Google, they use Baidu.

They just want to prove they can live their lives based on copycat ideas and survive on their own.

While I like Huawei products in general, I don't think I would ever hold them up as a modal corporation they try to appear to be.

If they do well, they do well. If they don't, they don't. If they launch a product I like, I buy it.

But I won't go crazy, and ever say "poor Huawei." 😢 And get all emotional like I recently saw when they were on the banned list. Wow, that's not rational reaction.

It's all about profits for corporations....

We are just their extra income. If anything happens, the blind Chinese will boycott non Chinese brands and (almost) all will support their own brands to prove a point.

And with their population, indeed they don't have to worry about us foreigners.

The issue is this may not be popular with phone of other brand. So you are going to do messaging between Huawei phone only?

Hopefully it can compete with Android os

Sent from Rem Isekai using GAGT

Sometime it may not be technology, is how they move the current user base. It just like iOS vs Android. Worse case, Win phone vs iOS+Android. In the end Microsoft plus Nokia also gave up!

Definitely no cos no matter how good the hardware it is the apps that get things done

Agreed with you. WinOS is one good example. They have both OS and hardware but still gone.

Most die heart support will not give up just like the Win phone day. It will takes several years to experience it. Finally they notice it is not going anyway better then the bigger community and gave up. Nokia for some reason jumpol in during that time and die quickly too.

Not every one brand, one "os" can be successful like Apple. Apple is a different situation as at that time only a handful smart phone around.

I would not use the word stupid. Messaging system is country dependable. Eg, in Thailand, most people use line. One of my Thail friend installed wahtsapp just because I use WhatsApp only. And his WhatsApp has only one contact, that's me! If you happen to be in Japan, you may notice the same!

WeChat is not a copy cat. It is not just a messaging application but also a payment system.

Tell me how many payment system you need for a small country like Singapore! Even the shop owner is confused so need not to mention about the end user!
