Your aircon capacity probably too high for the room. Room cools down faster than it can dehumidify. Like others said, only thing you can do is to run at minimum fan speed, but this isn't that good for the ac long run coz it might risk condensation on the trunking due to the very cold pipes and slow heat transfer at slow fan speeds.

Duct wise, the only time that it can go upwards if they have a drain pump, but generally not supposed to go against gravity.

Interesting, always thought the cooling and dehumidification goes hand-in-hand. So it appears that it can actually cool too fast (blower moving too much air too quickly?) and dehumidification rate cannot keep up with it.

Something is wrong with his aircon.

Even on dry mode, the humidity is not going down.

Anyway, can counter check the model number and it's BTU. Compare to room size. Too high?

Fancoil - FTKS35DVM, Capacity 12000 BTU = 3.5 kW.
Room size - about 11ft X 12ft.

another thing I tried, set the temp to 25C. Let the air cool down. I can see the humidity dropping around 72. Switch off the aircon, wait a while for temp to increase a bit.
Then again on the Aircon for a while. I have seen humidity reach about 67%, but then I cant keep doing this overnight !!

As Mike said, something is surely wrong. Not sure what !
Lending my hygrometer to a colleague soon to check in their house, just to double check.

Use fan speed 1 and set 25C and see if humidity drops ...

I'm using Mitsubishi Electric FN Series (5tick) currently.

MXY-4G33VA2 x 01
MSXY-FN24VE x 01
MSXY-FN13VE x 01
MSXY-FN10VE x 02

Slightly around 1.5 years. Today my block had a electricity disruption for 2 hours, after that my air con don't work anymore. The units can be turned on but less than 5 mins, it shuts down with the top blinker blinking non stop. What could be the issue?

Possible to claim against those who turn off and disrupt? If not how?

town council turned it off, forgot about the outdoor switch

My brother had a problem when he moved in to the new BTO.

Many aircon units got zapped. The developer paid out compensation.

Talk to your Town Coucil and claim from them.

To make the case stronger, maybe get the whole block to involve.

1) You seem not being able to get over with the problem with this brand.

2) Look at the reviews. Some are low reviews count person. Can trust?

3) If worry, buy the extended warranty from reputable merchants like GC.

Or get other brands that you are comfortable with.

I already tried MHI and ME now. Let's see how long my ME lasts.

I may also try Daikin next time but I still prefer ME because of the super easy cleaning and maintenance.

These 3 brands are the usual recommendations.

Tilll end Oct 2020 got 1+2 years means total 3 years full warranty for Daikin. It was one of their extended warranty promotion. But you have to standby for thermistor issues like what most people who complaint has faced.

On the otherhand ME more reliable. Except pcb issue.

It was tough call as im getting for my whole house system. In the end I took ME.

Why ME at the end.

1) both 5 ticks
2) daikin has 4 directional swings and built in wifi function. More fun, more excitement, but when more electrical or mechanical parts fail, don't think I can smile series anymore
3) Daikin thermistor issue been mention many times by aircon men of different company
4) ME pcb fault I only read it here in this post
5) anyway both not made in Japan. One Thailand, one Malaysia. Correct me if I'm wrong.
6) I look around at a lot of aircon companies and finally got 1 was kind enough to be super honest and told me the faults of all these different models. And seriously I called him like 6 times (each easily 50mins) to make inquiry and he handle it with patience etc. So made my decision to go with his recommendation of starmex FN series.

4G33V + 1 X 24k btu + 1 X 9k btu + 1 X 12k btu
