I have a Sony KLV-46X350, When i switch it on, the power LED light will blink twice. I have managed to get replacement for the power and main board. Can anyone assist me to replace the boards?

If you have assembled PCs before, it is a similar process. Just make sure you don't touch the power board components (esp the large capacitors) as it may have residual charge which can run into a few hundred volts if not bled off properly.

I went to https://servicemanuals.us/sony/tv/klv-46x350a-klv-52x350a.html to look up on the manual and finally decided to go ahead and open up the TV this afternoon. It was dusty. I used a vacuum cleaner to suck the dust off. Luckily there is no residual charge on any capacitors.

I have with me 2 boards, GF1 which I believe is the power board and AG which should be the main board. The main board seems more difficult to get to and so I decided to switch out the power board, GF1, first.

I removed the 4 screws and pulled out the 7 connectors. The board was held in place with 2 plastic holders at the bottom. I replaced the board and connected everything back. Plugged in the power cable and pressed the main switch. It switched on. Hurray!

I brought the rear cover to the bathroom to rinse out all the dust. Used a hair dryer to blow dry it and screwed everything back.

Everything is working again. Will update if anything else goes wrong.

My LG 55lf630t (HD1080p TV) recently just died on me after 5 years. One side of the LED died and the other side keep flashing. I call on repair and some people quoted me 300-400. I am not sure it worth repairing, as a new 4k TV cost about 600+ too. Feel it is a waste to throw it away tho, what should it do with it?

Sell it as a spare part. May be can take back $50 to $100 and use it for your new TV.

Think yours is about same time frame as mine (if remember correctly, mine is 7xx series).

I end up selling it for $50. not bad consider the buyer pick up himself.

Hi, my samsung tv screen crack.. im looking to change the lcd.. any advise? or anyone have spoil samsung tv that can give me the panel? just buy last year and still paying courts installment..

Probably not cost effective. What size is your TV.

My Sony Bravia 46inch spoiled after serving us for 6yrs, engaged a technician to check, result is the panel spoit, if replace it will cost $480 quoted by the him. He told me not worth to repair, so I paid him $40 for the transportation and labor.
Can any kind soul advise me if it's worth to repair, or r there any cheaper ways to repair it?

You may be able recover some money by selling the power supply and logic board.

kudos to limtk55 who helped me to troubleshoot my 3yrs old Sony TV on new year day (1st of Jan). Appreciate his time and effort to explain clearly what is the probable root cause of the TV. Hopefully, it's just a software patch.

have a Philips 42pfl6008 tv that seems to have a backlight issue. Sometimes (not every time) the tv turns on, there is sound and the ambilght turns on but there is no picture. Then often after 15-20 minutes of being on picture comes on, other times it starts up no problem. Seems like it’s a backlight issue and seems quite common on Philips TVs. Could I check if anyone have recommendation for repair and any views on how much it might be as trying to figure out if I get fixed or just scrap.

My LG oled just spoilt. Got lines on the middle of the screen + auto shut down after 2mins.

it happened after water spilt on it.

Still under warranty, but I think LG doesn't cover it.

My experience so far is, tech will just come and recommend you to change a board which will cost at least 150 to 250, so plus the assessment... consider if it's worth it?

Need to find someone willing to replace parts only to make it cost effective (I'm still looking )

You could consider to open up to look for problem, your issue sounds like part slowly burning out that can be seen.

Yap, backlight issue. Can go Aliexpress or TaoBao to find the backlight to replace.
Don't scrape the TV. Is worth to diy since you already decided to scrape. Use it as self learning diy.

I have spare LG 42" LED backlight from a bad LG panel. Not sure it fits Philips as I know most Philips TV use the same LG hard panel.

I have a Samsung UA 55H8000 AK Curve 3D which slowly deteriorated with a horizontal band coming and going until now where it wouldn't go away after restarts.

Called Samsung who quoted 180 call out charge then estimate 400 to 500 for mainboard, a previous tv repair guy said it was a Panel problem, not worth repair.

I opened up and detected rusted jumper on mainboard which broke upon testing.

After clean up of all boards and checking and cleaning all possible connectors and replacement of metal jumper with a copper one, TV is HAPPY again with full brightness .....

Guess for electronic stuff that got problem, if can open up to do some visual checks and troubleshooting, may get lucky.

From my limited experience, this could be power supply issue.

I changed the power adapter and it is ok liao.
