What is the significance from history? There is a storyline for dumplings and mooncakes.

I don’t see any for bak kwa, only in SG.
The dialect name Bak Kwa when translated means dried meat. The barbecued pork jerky's deep red colour is considered auspicious in Chinese tradition, symbolising good luck and believed to ward off negative energies.

The people in the know will not buy Bak kwa during CNY.

Because of the huge number of orders, they pretty much anyhow grill it shoddily.
You're paying far more for poorer quality.

Shd be able to hit 60+ or over 70 soon.

Anyway not gonna eat this stuff....esp not during CNY (peak period). Personally find it BS to pay so much and get slightly lower quality goods vs normal times.

Try to reduce the intake of such food. It contains a lot of colouring, additives, sugar and salt. It is highly processed food and the preparation process involves charring.

How to best heat up at home?
Last time I use lowest heat, microwave. Cover it as well, 2 plates. Bak kwa really need to heat up a bit one.....

But past few years don't eat already, don't really like any black/chow tar foodstuff (PAHs).
