It is a closed loop so if you need to top up means there is somewhere leaking.

If top up only tahan 2-3 weeks....most likely cooler coil up lorry....$400-700 replacement

Very few compressor can last 10 yrs. Mostly problem comes after 5 to 6 yrs.

Mine already 11 years. Still cold. Only need to do self servicing bring down the blower and tray to wash, spray aircon acid to clean the coil than later wash away with water, lastly pour 2 bottles of 1.5L water into the tray and use a wet vacuum to sux out all the jelly will do. Every 4 to 6 months clean once.

Only when there is a leak then you will need to top up gas but it's better to find out why is it leaking, if not you have to yop up very often. Good working condition AC dun need to top up gas every servicing
