Where did you get the idea that they use the same tower?

StarHub and M1 formed the Antina JV to bid on the 5G spectrum auction in 2020. They won the auction and now both operate 5G together on the same spectrum. If they share spectrum, it is physically impossible to operate in the same space using different equipment, as TDD 5G (on the n78 band) using different signalling timings is a recipe for disaster. Because of that, given they both have islandwide networks, they must share the equipment.

Also you connect to StarHub's 5G towers while on M1.

It's also the same. How can be different if they use the exact same towers?
Indoor antennas are separated.

Don't you see at the ceiling of the commercial building there's those picocell antennas that either look like some guy has his hard on, or those square boxes with carrier logo?

Each operator roll out the in-building coverage separately normally, unless previous agreements were made and it's marked as "CAS" instead of the respective carriers.

This is why there will be in-building coverage where StarHub have 5G while M1 doesn't, and vice-versa.

You can always have different channels in the same spectrum lot.

For example, maybe 50MHz each to deploy inside the buildings?

My concern there is that it would interfere with the outdoor reception because indoor and outdoor cells would have different configurations and timing offsets, especially if they are operated independently by both SH and M1

Many hard ons on the ceiling everywhere, it’s frightening. :ROFLMAO:

They should have RF engineers that test all these. If they can't even get things done properly, I'm speechless.

are you able to call or receive while on 5g?

call can … but receive never monitor …. Data is not stable … at least for my case. And when I cannot receive the otp from bank when on 5g really turns me off.

I just moved to M1 5G SA, SIM only plan. The 5G coverage really CMI, GOMO better. And that's very telling of how bad it is, because GOMO has a lot of dead spots.

What phone?

I'm using iPhone 13 Pro Max, 5G On (not 5G Auto), most outdoors are covered.

For me GOMO 5G is more problematic than M1 5G, but coverage is wider.
