Yes I did. And Klook is having 1 for 1 promo for the HSR.
Then decide if worth the hassle.
Because of the 1 for 1, that is the main + point.
If travel on Friday, may run the risk of no seat on hsr for 1hr standing.

the easiest and fuss-free is to take the express bus direct from airport terminal to tc train stn. then take taxi to hotel. sure got seats on the bus to relax and take a quick wink if needed. and is the cheapest option. haha.

will be my first time. But heard if around Taipei 5 days should be enough?

depends on what u want to do. sightseeing, or shopping, or dining, or mix. 5 days will probably give u enough time to visit the touristy spots. if u read the earlier posts, there r some suggested places to visit.

if u like it after this trip, can always go back taiwan again.

depends what u like to see or do. if not sure just take as exploration trip & divide your time between various cities like Taipei, Taichung, tainan, kaohsiung, hualian. so next trip u know how to plan your time in taiwan

5 days no need to go so many other places. Waste time traveling only.

Actually some airlines do need passport details when purchasing ticket example lionair.
so better avoid especially for those in process of renewing since new passport number will be issued.

don't know how troublesome it will be to request passport number change once new passport arrives. i will try to avoid such scenario.

Ok, but 1st time in Taiwan, just tour Taipei. If like then expand to other cities. Dun mar the experience thinking need to do so much travel and won’t come back later.
up to him lah, I'm just suggesting options not saying mine best method … since he got advice that 5days enough for taipei elsewhere, rest of days can try exploring other cities

personally i did day trip to kaoshuing, tainan, taichung from taipei just to get a feels of various cities. i know which cities i want to spend more time on my next trip.

of course.

also, a suggestion. to see the vibes of other cities, can just check youtube for walkings in these cities. aplenty of them.

For most who thinks YouTube is a good guide, yes it is without a single doubt.
Last time we get info from 食尚玩家。
But now most people really rush from one place to another.
Utubers are crashing a few days into a single day of trip.
How they get it done is that they will not tell you they take taxis or get ferry/shuttle service from one location to another.
So do plan wisely for most new comers.
