Nice.

ViewQwest will roll out three data plans, each designed with a two-year contract:
● 3 Gbps plan: starting at $20.98/month for the first 10 months, then $44.98/month
thereafter. Effective monthly rate is at $34.98 during the contract period

● 5 Gbps plan: starting at $32.99/month for the first 10 months, then $56.99/month
thereafter. Effective monthly rate is at $46.99 during the contract period

● 10 Gbps plan: starting at $44.98/month for the first 10 months, then $68.98/month
thereafter. Effective monthly rate is at $58.98 during the contract period.

Another interesting things for power users who want to use SFP+ hands off to their own router without using the XGS-PON ONU, looks like VQ provides the possibility, for routers like UDM SE and TP-Link Archer GE900, as mentioned by the article.
VQ coming hard with their offerings

I'm surprised there are no Gamer plan equivalents? Is VQ admitting that there's essentially no difference between the regular and Gamer plan?

I wish there was still a VQ representative around to answer these questions. Those were the days.

Main thing is that I do not have LAN ports in the rooms. Thinking of laying Fibre by myself (my wife supports the idea of using translucent fibre).
sama sama

so using coaxial over internet since antenna phase out

so far is more than enough for in-room usage

Yes that is a good interim solution. I am still relying on wireless as of now.

In the end you may have to upgrade when it comes to 10G. Post 10G it will be dominated by Fibre.

their NOC already will do optimisation for regular plans if there is an issue although it takes some time. I don't see the need for gamer plans

can ask them optimise for GCP in HK? their current routes gives 200+ms ping RTT :spin:

There is something up with the routing for HK servers. Even MW3 when I play on HK server, ping is 200+ ms. WTF. If I use Wireguard and run HK server from ProtonVPN, ping is normal.

It even shows on my router Pingmap for MW3 servers. So it has to be bad routing. Starhub here.

I'm seeing 50+ms on M1 instead of the usual 39ms. I ran traceroutes from the 5 ISPs a few days ago and it's mostly 50+ms ping RTT. VQ is 200ms+ but it has been that way since a few months ago.

Google doesn't have a looking glass so can't really traceroute from their end, but from my end the latency bump happens inside their network.

Probably its something within their network or the return path from Google has slightly higher latency.

If you use your account portal to recontract, it's actually just $31.34 per month for the 3Gbps 2-year contract when you pay an annual price of $376.08.

Cos you'll get $26 off for 12 months instead of what you see on the main website and $32 off for 12 months for the 5Gbps and 10Gbps plans. And an extra 2% discount off the bill if you pay annually. Thus, my final price of $376.08 annually which is equivalent to $31.34 per month.
