Actually I thought of reset the router when he setup the Ont.. but oh well I thought plug and play will work.. the technician also unsure so ask to open up the tp link model to test lol

i think clear router cache might help since u r porting from other telco

Yes that is a good interim solution. I am still relying on wireless as of now.

In the end you may have to upgrade when it comes to 10G. Post 10G it will be dominated by Fibre.

their NOC already will do optimisation for regular plans if there is an issue although it takes some time. I don't see the need for gamer plans

There is something up with the routing for HK servers. Even MW3 when I play on HK server, ping is 200+ ms. WTF. If I use Wireguard and run HK server from ProtonVPN, ping is normal.

It even shows on my router Pingmap for MW3 servers. So it has to be bad routing. Starhub here.

Google doesn't have a looking glass so can't really traceroute from their end, but from my end the latency bump happens inside their network.

Probably its something within their network or the return path from Google has slightly higher latency.

its not any normal module. its an ONU, essentially allows you to connect your SFP+ enabled router straight to the Fibre Termination Point. Eliminating the need for one more device,ONT not required anymore.

don't think is subsea cable leh, probably some asymmetric routing issue.

Cloudflare warp+ uses Telia just like M1 but ping RTT is ~39ms.
