FYI only.
China Unicom 10Gbps plan trial (China Telecom and China Mobile are said to have such trial as well).

Related news: they seems to use 50G-PON (as well as 800G) technology.

your other line is MR right?

viewqwest or MR for backup line? 🤔

They halted my sign up because i manually entered my details instead of using singpass to autofill, so I still have a way out.. 🤣

VQ for home, MR basic for parent's home, MR biz for office.
I quite like the lower latency when in office even though its on an older/slower router vs VQ @ home, everything loads faster, but thats MR biz

I don't use MR basic @ parent's place enough to form an opinion yet.
my brother who uses m1 @ his own place, & MR basic @ parent's place says he can't tell the difference :ROFLMAO:

I was also contemplating renewing VQ or switching to MR at the end of the year as my 2nd port is used by ST TV. If I had a spare port, I'll probably switch to MR to try for 2yrs, but as long as ST TV is hogging my 2nd port, I'll probably renew VQ since its a hassle to switch to MR.

VQ isn't that bad to the point where I'll bail. VQ so far entertain my requests for route optimisation, but MR basic is more resistent and claims route optimisation is only for gamer plan and to gaming servers only. But I think if its really bad like 400ms to HK, they'll probably look into it.

Since its a backup line, whichever is the cheaper one or has different uplink providers compared to your existing M1?

i feel like slamming MR now man

9PM onward every night my game ping will spike like no business then resume normal after 12AM. Pay for gamer plan also useless. had to resort to using exitlag for smooth ping for safely purposes

Ever since the start of migration to SH, MR has been going downhill, before I had my 10Gbps plan, I was using MR 1Gbps which was under their own network, everything was rock solid no ping spikes etc, now that it's under SH... my ping look like heart monitor. .....::::....::::.....:::....:::....

EDIT: Backend network team will always say "nooooo issue" :D

The offerings are confusing here in Singapore though..

Do all ISPs with 2.5/5/10 Gbps plans allow you to bring your own router. i.e. SFP port to the ONT directly?
Viewqwest X makes it clear you can

On my Unifi systems, VQ ping is a straight line while MR is like a heartbeat like you mentioned. :ROFLMAO:

Yea... I still have my 10gbps MR, gonna let my parents use that.

I just signed up for the new VQ 10gbps ubiquit plan, hopefully everything will be okay.

For new user, it is cheaper to get the S$55.39 per month plan in that case. Effectively TP-Link costs about S$250 in that case.
(S$55.39 - S$45) x 24 = S$249.36

But for existing user who want to change from Nokia ONR to ONT, I guess you have to pay S$360 to get the TP-Link EB810v router.
Yes $360 and my wife concern is what if after I got the router for $360 still same issue then how?
