It's true. I really feel damn shy to wear my Rolex

If wearing underwear outside makes you happy then go ahead, it doesn't make me happy so I am not going to do it.

If you don't want to stand out then just wear Apple Watch or Seiko.

Seiko watches are not selling cheap. City Chain sells those Seiko Prospex or Seiko whatever for more than $500 and even over a thousand bucks. It tries to justify the price by bring the automatic movement back.

Still, I don't see a lot of people wearing one. Once in a while, I might see an old man wearing a sub one hundred dollars Seiko 5.

Too small for me, and VC won't entertain me lol. Tempted to get 16202 but gotta go grey, cause even if support boutique apparently they won't offer before the 5th watch, and I have no interest in 1159 at all, give me free I also don't wanna wear it.

I hardly see people wearing watches these days. Even the smart watch has lost its hype.

Occasionally, I'd see a boomer wearing a cheap looking watch.

Or else, a zoomer wearing a colourful smarty....honestly, I didn't see a lot of them wearing Apple iWatch, or Gamin or what have you.

And here I am owning a Rolex, which I feel damn shy to be the only person wearing one at any hawker centre or food court or McD. Damn it, nobody wears that in restaurants even!

What am I keeping it for? To console myself, aka lie to myself, that it's a highly desirable object that needs servicing every half a decade for a price that should keep the Rolex technician employed and paid well, and cover the rental of the posh looking premises? Tell myself, to borrow a phrase from PP, that I don't own it but keep it for the next generation(s)? BBFAs don't buy that line though..

When I was young I look at all those old uncles wearing gold lolex all look very obiang. Now that I am older, I see much less of this so you will really stand out if you wear one.
Simple watches are fine but if want expensive, this looks good:

Most people might think you bought it a Bugis...one of those shops which sell watches at $5 each, and $9 for two if you bargain a bit. If you are e-commerce savvy, you can actually get it for $3, shipping fee absorbed.

Those who admire timepiece, won't have this kinda of mindset.

Actually I realised as time passes, is important skill to appreciate the fine things in life whether you can afford or use it personally. Is also a good way to reflect your taste and good topic to connect with people quickly. Recently I saw my boss wear GS, I praise him and spoke a bit about watches and how I like GS spring drive technology. Immediately he was quite happy and impressed a girl like me can also appreciate.
