Yes, that is correct if you get ZTE ONR with latest FW updates.

In your case, most likely you can still bridge by yourself, just not to upgrade ONR FW if you get ZTE F8648P ONR. New users seem to get Nokia XS-240X-A ONR more often.
thank! Hopefully still can. Anything to take note of during the installation?

Finally installed for 29.90 recontract, now I just need to wait for next bill to come and see if there is any sneaky charges. Indeed brought along HB611

I thought the $29.90 comes with the wifi 6 router? Did you request for an upgrade?

Thanks! Any link for the self bridging steps?

Read the following thread for the manual bridging guide for both ZTE F8648P ONR and Nokia XS-240X-A ONR.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...te-f8648p-superadmin-password.6946718/page-15

The bad news is that latest ZTE F8648P ONR FW seems to disable the option for self bridging, as per the post in the above thread.

Noticed that there was firmware update waiting on the MySingtel App for the F8648P.

Pushed it to the router and it took about 5 - 6 minutes to update. It's now on the V2.1.10P5N20B firmware.

Quick check on the support login, and it seems that they removed the bridging ports on the Fast Setting page.

Hi all..

a friend just got “upgraded” to singtel’s 2gb plan.

they were given Singtel branded mesh router units.

any settings I could do to ensure better coverage and speed?

since it is set in Ap mode, how do I gain access into the mesh router settings?

Get the IP address from the main SingTel ONR.

SingTel mesh solution for 2Gbps plan is very lousy and nothing you can do to improve, other than the placement.

looking at "recontracting" my 2 years old setup - SingTel 1Gbps with SingTel Wi-Fi 6 Router (RT5703W-D171) and a Mesh Extender (AP5690W-D171).
The key is to reduce monthly subscription (S$74.26/mth) and minimise hardware change.

Options:
A) SingTel 2GB Wi-Fi 6 (price discount by > 45%) - comes with 1 Router (WG660242-ST)
B) SingTel 3GB Wi-Fi 7 (price discount by > 45%) - comes with 1 Router (TP Link, HB611)

Questions:
1) hopes to maintain MESH coverage, would AP5690W-D171 be able to function with any of these Routers?
2) come across this "
Singtel will provide security updates up to 9 March 2026" statement on SingTel website (on the Mesh Extender, AP5690W-D171), should general user be concern? probably it's time to move to a newer version of MESH?

Thank you for your input.

I'd personally go for the 3GB WiFi 7 plan with the HB611 given that the router is a much newer model and has features that should be able to make the most out of your connection.

... that would mean paying extra for hardwares... during such times, i'd try to not "chase technology" as much as possible. thanks for your opinion.

1) No. AP5690W-D171 can only mesh with RT5703W-D171. It can not mesh with either WG660242-ST or TP Link, HB611-SGST.

2) HB611-SGST is better. You can get another HB611-SGST from Singtel, or maybe it is better to get HB710 from Starhub users (S$192 from Starhub shop, but some people may sell cheaper in Carousell).

In general, avoid the following Singtel WiFi 6 mesh solutions. They are super lousy mesh solutions.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/routers-ont
Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (WE620242-ST) x 2 nodes
Wi-Fi 6 Mesh AP5690W x 2 modes
Wi-Fi 6 Router RT5703W + Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (WE620242-ST)
Wi-Fi 6 Router (WG660242-ST) + Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (WE620242-ST)

The older WiFi 5 mesh solutions from Singtel are also super lousy.
Singtel Mesh Router + Singtel Mesh Extender
Singtel Mesh Extender x 2
Askey AP5100W Wi-Fi Mesh x 2

Basically the general advice is to AVOID Singtel Mesh Solution from Acadyan/Askey/Airties.

Accdeptable mesh solutions from Singtel:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/routers-ont

Singtel ONR + HB810 + HB810, expensive
Singtel ONR + HB810 + HB611-SGST
Singtel ONR + HB611-SGST + HB611-SGST

But it is probably more cost effective to use HB710 from Starhub than HB810 and HB611-SGST for Singtel 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plan users. The only problem is that the following combination will not be supported by either Singtel or Starhub.
Singtel ONR + HB810 + HB710
Singtel ONR + HB710 + HB710
Singtel ONR + HB710 + HB611-SGST

Saw that the 5bps $29.90 website has expired. Anyone knows what is the latest promotion right now?

Thanks for the updates.

Now the next best offer is probably 3Gbps plan at S$29.90 per month. But the report says the offer is more for new users and targeted users. YMMV.

From the sticky thread:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...on-latest-promo-deals.6665380/#post-138746082

Offer links:

3Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 6) Plan at $29.90/mth (U.P. $84.90/mth)
  • Comes with 1 unit of Singtel WiFi 6 mesh device

My Singtel 1Gbps contract just ended.

Tried applied online previously for 5Gbps @ $29.90 but rejected.

Contacted them a few times through WhatsApp but also unable to offer me even the 3Gbps @ $39.90. Keep saying if I never received the promotion they can't offer me the promotion.....

Anyone know what are my available option if I want to switch camp but keep my home digital line (as my parents using)? Am I able to port my home number to other provider?
