if japan such a big country can get all their bicycle to be registered and mandate all their cyclist to get mandatory 3rd party insurance, i don’t see why singapore such a small country cannot do so.
Because Singapore is not as homogeneous as Japan and it is important here that the locals need to assimilate into FTs' culture... So it is very difficult but I am confident that the authority here is monitoring the situation.... as usual ...

You realize the pcn or shared path markings goes behind the bus stops at certain places now?

Buangkok have, Pasir Ris also have, Tampines as well.

Not sure. If so have this is a dame stupid design.

Maybe there a lot of “bureaucratic work” to be done

To make common sense things like this happen.

Easier to implement tray return and plastic bag.

If the shared path or PCN is slated to go through the area then behind the bus stop is already the best location for that to go to. Areas with this are also usually enlarged further to accommodate that.

Based on how they are developing the network, you can basically expect more of such ''lame'' designs to happen.

Some PCN route are behind the bus stop

which is why they painted LOOK LEFT LOOK RIGHT on the ground

the authorities or designer knew is an obvious blind spot so give warning sign

but there no SLOW signage for cyclists

Even there is signage to dismount or slow, cyclists don’t comply

end up sometimes I see LTA deployed auxiliary officer to catch errant cyclists

No riding zone dun make sense de.

If for example, u make a section no riding zone, then what happen is (already happening actually) is that your cyclist groups is gonna take note, share it among community then cyclists either avoid the area totally or they go to the other side where they can ride without the sign, even if it means have ppl.

Context is for those with town centres etc etc.

Currently now some area already have TP cams mostly for PMDs but as PMDs are supposed to be on shared path and pcns only, cyclists will end up getting captured also.

Which then comes to the next point, what's the point of building a shared path there THEN input the policy of policing cams etc and discouraging the targeted segment from using the said paths?

Additionally, with shared paths and pcns now within town centres, it make sense for EVERYONE, cyclists included, to slow down, take note of their surroundings and make sure you look before you cross a shared path/pcn. This is no diff from crossing the road and from things like carrying a tray of soup and u look behind and make sure nobody is there before u spin around etc.

I will agree errant cyclists make the group looks bad and some of them really deserve what's coming to them.

Now d main issue is also how to get ppl to adhere to rules? As we've seen in many cases n in news.

U can enact all d laws n rules. But ppl dun care or adhere to it now.
