If you just view the Photo on a small screen like handphone, then 1'' sensor or 3'' sensor images not much difference, but you try viewing on a 28'' monitor and you can clearly see the difference.
You try printing the image out on a photo paper and you can see the difference too.

All those "zooming" on handphone are all fake lah, only "digital zooming" and not "optical zooming", so there is a deterioration of image quality with "digital zooming".
Yes, for those people who don't use a desktop or even ipad, HP is good enough for them.

HP don't have the capability to optical zoom. Need to have an actual lens for it. But they have came out with a lossless zoom for smaller cams and action cams. Not sure hp have it or not

i have the techart lm-ea7 and 9. used it for my vintage glass. the performance is decent for short lenses. for af converters, AF is hit or miss depending on lens. i had wanted to turn this into a canon trip with 10-18, 24, 55-250mm but the af on the 24 was pretty iffy. in the end i bought my 28mm pentax as the normal using another af adapter and a sony 15mm. those 2 kinda did most of the work the 10-18mm was supposed to do...

in any case these were the adaptors i used this trip......

Wow. One techart 400usd. Two of them is 1k already

also the adaptors create bulk and is extra weight. Looking back, do you still think it is worthwhile? The other brands lens really so much better?

I bought a Canon EOS years ago, thinking of taking beautiful photos of the scenery and my family during vacations, in the end only brought it out for one day, because it was so bulky and leychey that it reduced my holiday enjoyment…
May be try Ricoh GR4 or Fujifilm X100VI? Both are small enough and light enough yet produce as good quality SOOC images (no need to edit RAW images) as bulky full-frame cameras that is at least 3x more expensive? (as long as you do not need to print the image on a A0 size paper)...

the 7 u can get less than 200 in carousell. i started with it and bought a lm-ea9 from japan at a good price.....
its more for ease of use as u grow older. i have a cabinet of old manual lens i collected cheaply when i started out. even canon fd lens. these adapters basically modernize them for me. nowadays lens dun have aperture ring and some dun even allow focussing on lens.......

i actually used the lm-ea9 and a pk-lm adapter in a previous trip so that i can control aperture from the lens...(sony 15, pentax pk lens).........

anyway every brand has their hits and misses. in general i love pentax's smc tech for flare resistance as i like to compose with sun. sony did do a lot of innovation for wide angle large aperture(vloggers) which in the older days would weight and cost a ton........

actually what's the point of having such high quality photos when photos will ultimately end up in file storage??? i have over 20 years of digital photos (overseas vacation) in my hard disks which i never view

nowaday, i go travel also don't take much as i know they will not be viewed again after few years
Wait till you/your spouse >70 years old, cannot walk, reminiscence old times with your spouse/you/children, bring out old digital photos all poor quality and not sharp and cannot see details, lamented wasted all your time going holidays overseas and taking photos but all these photos are just garbage???

Faces in backlit situations without flash, smart phone seems better
Not true lah, you don't know how to use flash with digital camera?
The digital camera usually has a much stronger flash that can illuminates up to 7m away compared to smartphone only 1~2m?

dof gives a hint even though both are f/1.xx.....

Astute observation. Indeed smaller sensors can generally have a "pseudo-deeper" dof, which is not bad a thing for smartphone users.
