ic what u mean.

yeah i think galaxy s is pricey hence the recommendation to get secondhand. as for LG 2x, i think it's a terrific deal but it is best for most of the major bugs to be ironed out before u plunge and buy one.

in my case, i was looking at recontract prices and the SL was only $150 more. Also, the discount on the SL vs the market price is larger than for the Ace.

As for the Galaxy S, i think it is way over-priced merely bec of the super-amoled screen. For just a little more, you can now get the dual-core LG Optimus 2X.

Is galaxy ace worth to buy now? Or Galaxy SL is more worth it?

Galaxy SL is more worth it. But beware, Samsung gps is flaky - so, if gps is very imp to use, HTC would be a better choice. Alternatively, u can use yr samsung set with a bluetooth gps like what i m doing

That's how the battery charging works to make it not overcharge, don't need to worry too much.

heavy use as in shoot 1 hour video, 2 hour phone call, 2 hour game, every 30min sync plus surf net? of course cannot last 24 hours la. from what i hear, casual use can last way more than 24 hours.

Ace battery life is really bad. You might want to take note of that. For a heavy user, probably won't last 24hrs.:)

From the usage you describe above, it probably can last 15~16hrs at most. :s13:
Some heavy users reported only 12~13hrs battery life under heavy usage, tat's pathetic for a smart phone by today's standard! :s22:
Even for slightly above average usage, the battery life lasted at best 1.5days for my wife's phone. :)

I heard that ace's battery life is low is it really true? Is ace and sl lag?

Yes, it's true. Just google "Galaxy Ace battery life" and you will see quite a lot of users complaining about it. At today's smartphone standard, it's considered bad for it's battery life. :)

The only consolation is that it came with Gorilla glass screen!

how terrible is the gps for sl? this is the deciding factor for me (whether to get ace or sl)

don't know about ace but u can get lots of info on the S and SL here:-

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032034

funny thing is, when i followed the advice, it didn't work then i reset to stock n now it seems to be working much better. maybe it's dependent upon the set. comments from other SL owners?

generally, Samsung have not implemented their gps well - prob something to do with the location and size of their gps antenna. htc seems to have done better.

the gd thing about samsung is that the bluetooth can connect to bluetooth gps whereas htc bluetooth is crippled (both the legend and desire could not pair with my bluetooth gps)
