does anyone have problems enabling the wireless tethering or wifi sometimes? i get the status 'Error' showing up and have to restart the phone before i can enable them again. it's getting annoying.

This error is apparently due to a bug in android..either you reset your phone, or u can do this, at your own risk (no known side effects though):

Enter *#*#526#*#*, then the WLAN driver test will load, and when the Driver is loaded successfully, exit and try to switch on the wifi again. It saved me the trouble of restarting my phone a few times already..

This is supposedly some code that technicians use to test the WLAN driver

anyone know will it be lag if play angry bird at those stages where got alot of "pigs" and "stuffs"? Cause i saw before on others phone where those stages got alot of "stuffs" it intend to be lag and is very lag..

I do experience occasional lag while playing Angry Birds. It can be on the same map. (I.e. I'm in the same stage/map/level and it lags for a few minutes [I failed to kill all the pigs ] and then smooth game play afterwards.)

tried "tinkerbell?.... goto settings --> sound --> notification ringtone

the screen goes off and cant be switch on using the side power button or the middle front screen button..

but the phone is still definitely on as i tried calling and it gets through..

but the screen is off, no sound and no vibration.. it happened to be 5 times on the 2nd day i got it.. i brought it to the service centre.. apparently they helped me to reflash the OS and it worked ok till today i experienced it again..

the only way is to remove the batt and put it back in and restart the phone..

anyone having this problem?

have you tried a hard reset of the phone? try this and if it doesn't work, bring it back to Samsung SC...

1. remove battery from phone the next time it happens, and replace the battery back into the phone; do not power on

2. charge up the battery to a sufficient level, this is important as you DO NOT WANT the phone to dry up when you are hard resetting the phone, believe me..

3. press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time

4. when the menu appears, choose "factory reset"... use the volume up/down button to scroll up/down to select and the menu key to confirm selection

5. choose Reboot Now to finish

6. let it restart, takes a couple of minutes. after restarting, monitor usage to see if this problem re-occurs; if it does, probably you got a set with hw issues

7. if it still does not come alive after more than 5 minutes, remove battery and repeat above

8. if all else fails, bring back to Samsung SC

i think they shld have already done it when i first brought it to Samsung Service Centre..

could it be s/w issues? or apps? or could it even be the pin lock after u on your screen thing that causes the issue?

honestly i hate to do factory resets as they wipe out all my apps and configurations.. and i have to dwl them all over again.. i did that once already when i first sent it to the service centre on the 3rd day after i purchased the phone... or any way to back up all the data so i can restore everything after the hard reset?

Yup...till now I can't figure out why it is so soft...but not as loud as the phone ringtone.
