Hi! I need help please!

My old pair of specs is outting a lot of pressure behind the ears.
I hope to change to swissflex frames which seem to be more gentle, but I heard they slip easily.
Can I check with the forummers who have experienced swissflex frames before...

My myopia is -3.00 on both eyes.
if I were to use transistion lens with high index, will it be too heavy and cause it to slip easily?

Seems that ic Berlin frames are recommended here..
But the price seems to be much higher than swissflex.
How are they compared to with swissflex frames?

really don't want to spend >$600 and find myself with something I cannot use.

Please help to give some advise..

Thank you!

Actually the weight is not an issue for swiss flex with your degree. the nose pad does not have traction and if the temple of the frame does not hook properly behind the ear, it will slip off your nose.

I have a pair of ic berlin, so far it hasn't slip off my nose . but if you ride the roller coaster, you better take it off. :s13:

Is ic berlin more comfy than tag heuer?

Tag heuer should be more comfy as the rubber temple do not press into your head. But ultimately it's depend on the frame size vs ur head.

Hi!
Anyone knows of good brands or models of spectacles with temples that can be interchanged with straps?
Thanks for any suggestions.

For Nikon/Seiko 1.67 for 600+ degree... $280... is it considered ok price?

was quoted for following frames:
Armani $240, rock berry $130. should be ok price right?

I don't get it... My lens is perfectly polished at the edges, why does it still look like a fully-rimmed specs by itself?!

Where did you get the quote for the lens? Then maybe I can tell u if it's expensive or reasonable.

It's not me. I'm comparing it with my other pair -much, much cheaper- of rimless, which is perfectly clear at the edges. Both are of the same power and thickness. I just don't get why my latest pair of lenses could look like a full-frame by itself. Doesn't it defeat the purpose of a rimless?

The top of the lens doesn't sit flush with the frame either, making it look as if I have a separate, full wire frame pasted right on top of my semi-rimmed glasses.

I wouldn't be so frustrated if it is normal for lenses to turn out like this, but my other glasses didn't look like that so why should this be any different? And considering the amount of money I paid, I expect better.

If you're talking about the semi rimless. There would be a wire to hold the lens in place. It would be totally different from a rimless. Anyway post a pic if you don't get what I mean or you thing what I explained is still wrong.

I don't think what you said is wrong. I didn't explain myself clearly.

I have always been talking about semi-rimmed. I said rimless just to better illustrate how pointless it would have been for a rimless frame to be fitted with lenses that cause it to look like fully-rimmed glasses.

I have 2 glasses and they are both semi-rimmed; essentially the same except that one is made from titanium. So it isn't like I didn't have something to compare it with. It is obvious to me that one has that distinct outline and the other didn't. Furthermore, my myopia is low enough that I don't need glasses to function. My lenses are thin.

In fact, the edge of the lenses weren't polished when I first collected my glasses and the white outline was a lot more obvious. I just found a thread discussing about a similar problem. Yes, lenses IS the problem.

Ok I get what you mean now. But there's no way u can change the dept of the groove cos it's alrdy cut. Unless u can persuade ur optician that it really does bother u.
