SP you can buy from SLS but has to customize. most shops will do that for you including of the application of the SP.

i got mine, a clear SP, for $12.

for case, you can search ebay. i bought a nice hardcase but it only protects the back of HMP. not a problem since i always keep it in my sling pouch. btw, most cases from ebay, normally also come free with a SP.

Try challenger. It has 3G so no need to use USB stick

any bro facing the below mentioned 2 problems?

1. Wifi auto off
2. brightness auto off (screen dim need to go setting and touch on the brightness to "brighten" up the screen)

If yes, how you solve it? thanks (I had upgraded from HC to ICS)

p/s: I must say that this is really a good buy when I bought it at 299 in Best Denki sales...

I must agree with you. Good buy. Only hard to find casing.

But i don't have the problem you mentioned. But are your volume button like mine? Press up is volume down, press down is volume up. Funny.

Maybe software issues. You might need to reflash your ics rom again to eliminate the problem

Hi, when u mentioned reflash = reload ics again? currently i had upgraded to official ics by huawei...will it create more problems if i reload ics when the tablet itself is already ics? thanks

Yes. Maybe reflash the rom will work. Shouldn't be a problem. Mine was reflashed mutiply times. But make sure you backup all your data before you do so. Normally for software issues re-installing will fix them. Get another version or an updated one is best.

If after flashing new rom, problem still persist then confirm could be hardware. All the best.

How do u flash this kernel? How to get to fastboot n flash?

Does this kernel solve the random reboot problem?

Installed this, screen is smoother, and Antutu is 6000+ at 1.5GHz.

Just checking if anyone has tried this?

[KERNEL][ICS 4.0.3][07/31/12] Mediapad EX - xda-developers

-updated to newest stable kernel base (3.0.38)
-overclocked CPU up to 1,5 Ghz with oced BUS/RAM on highest steps, boots with 1,2 Ghz
-complied with Snapdragon optimized flags (-O2)
-optimized CRC32 and ARM RWSEM Algorithm
-CPU-supported unaligned accesses
-SIO scheduler
-XZ Kernel Compression -> smaller kernel size
-some debug code disabled
-arkusuma's touchscreen driver mod
-JHASH v3
-KSM and Autogrouping enabled by default
-RCU with Priority Boost
-Init.d support

You get fastboot by pressing the power button and vol up (side nearest power) together (may be down, can't recall clearly now).

Flash from PC only when the mediapad shows FASTBOOT, otherwise the PC cannot detect it.

You can search the xda mediapad forums for a bit more instructions. I got max of 7050 Antutu at 1.7GHz, and it does reboot occasionally, maybe once a week when I'm not using. It does not reboot when playing games, even something intensive like Galaxy on Fire 2.

It does reboot sometimes when I use GPS.

It's a really fine tablet anyway, still the BEST one with 3G and phone functions.
