Btw the extend warranty must pay 280 for 6 yrs coverage and cover lcd repair and can one to one replace if necessary,
Norm 3 yr warranty doesn,t include lcd prob? Really? Seriously really.

For some brand yes. They only covers panel for the first year.
Korean brand covers 3 years.

Quick question:

Bought a NAS (media server) yesterday, connected to the Starhub router. My LG 55LM6700(wired connection to router) does not seem to detect the NAS.

Not sure which LG TV app i should be using too. SmartShare?

Solved.

Just to share, i just installed an media server app on the NAS (Synology). And the LG telly automatically detected the NAS. Nice.

Philips uses passive 3D, not active. A lot of sales people often give information that are inaccurate and unreliable, for whatever reason. It is better to do your own research first. Having viewed both brands at the shops I must say Eurpoean made Philips 3D smart tv has better picture quality compared to LG. But LG has cheaper pricing and offer more free gifts.

I stand corrected. Philips does produce active 3D TV models. And their passive 47PFL6007 looks so cool, compared with LG's.

Yes i have 2 of those at home and I must say it's the best investment ever. Previous TV I had was Philips 8000 series LED and I've always wanted a 55" Full Array. First observation, Black levels is top notch as compared to edge-lit. As far as black levels are concerned in the LED range, this is the best I've seen. Of cause plasma beats LED anytime when it comes to inky black. Secondly, colors neutrality is excellent. Skin looks like skin, if you get what I mean, not sunburned. Thirdly, zero blurring at fast motion scenes, images are smooth as silk. In addition to that, images produced on the LM9600 has this depth which is very plasma-like which I've never seen in another LED. I have friends over for movie nights and they were blown away at how real the actors look and were practically glued to the TV.

Sound: Loud enough and clear enough for dialogue. But I would suggest to invest in a quality soundbar perhaps to compliment the sleekness of the TV.

Connectivity: Plenty of ports but note there is not analogue audio out, only optical. This TV plays almost any downloaded content you throw at it without any lag.

3D: I think the full array backlit plays a role as images are still bright despite the darkening effects of 3D glasses. Honestly, I am not a fan of 3D but this feature works flawlessly.

In summary, if you happen to chance upon a good deal for this top of the line model from LG. GRAB IT. Yes you may buy 2 TVs for the price you pay for a 9600 but if you want the best picture quality, I think there is no compromise.

BTW, this TV has won Editor's choice award in HWZ and Cnet Asia.

Any comments on the LG 47LM8600 model?

Available at MEGA. I think at $1890.

I dnt really believe they selling 47 inch lm 8600 for 1890. Becos Courts is still selling it around 2700++

FYI, just went to Mega and their listed price for 47lm8600 is $3299(same as Courts Online's listed price for this model). Definately can ask n negotiate for better price but i doubt they will cut it all the way down to $1890. Best Denki's listed price is $2399. If there is anyone out there who actually managed to get 47lm8600 at $1890, pls post picture of invoice here so we can get a price match at other retailers.

Sld be. Unless i saw the 2nd digit wrongly(very sure its $2X99) or they mislabel 6800 as 8600. I noticed a few mislabels when i was looking through all the models best denki has so no suprises if there are some cockups with the model numbers.

Hi,

Anyone knows how much a 47LM7600 would cost now and what freebies could it come with? I would think that the price should be dropping now that 2013 models should be just around the corner...

Thanks

I only see LM7600 at HN. Just a couple of days ago, I saw it was $2,199. I doubt they will reduce price now coz they will want to maximise their profit to consumers who are clueless about the 2013 TVs.

I was at another BD outlet today and i can 101% confirm their listed price for 47lm8600 is $2399. I think BD having anniversary promo this wkend and they got some decent promos going on. Might wanna check out today's or tomorrow's papers to see if they have adverts for it. Gain City also having an electronics fair @ Marina Sq atrium so those interested might wanna check it out although Gain City prices are not too competitive to begin with.
